You dont know much about the website. There are anonymous image boards, so yes they get abused from time to time. The moderators have always deleted those threads quickly and you generally never find it outside of /b/. There are forums on 4chan that you couldn't consider anything close to offensive. /b/ has become synonymous with 4chan, but it's like saying that the rest of boards is like After Hours. If 4chan really was a focal point of child porn then why is it that, unlike more obscure image boards, it doesn't have a board dedicated to Japanese lolicon manga for example? Simply put because that element isnt welcome there. The site upon which it was based, Futaba Channel, is one of Japans most popular websites. It also gets abused, but that doesn't make it a home for paedos.

The speed at which /b/ moves makes it easy for the sickos to post and hope to evade mods, but when it does get posted you'll find that the threads get reported straight away and for every post goading them on there's about 3 that will sage or report the thread. I cant speak for what it's like currently as I dont use it often, but when it was a smaller website a few years ago this was always the case.

The majority of the posters on /b/ are young adolescents who really shouldn't be using the website in the first place. I know that I hadn't even heard of the website until I was old enough to realise that there are real people behind the images that some spas find so funny. So yes you'll get young idiots who will post lulz because of the shock factor involved. It's clearly a website whose mean age is 16 which is apparent from the obsession with porn and tits.



No one would bother, as the saying goes "/b/ is not your personal army" so sleep safe tonight. That is unless you start uploading videos to youtube calling out "the haters", that usually sparks their interest.

Anyway my point is that the user base of 4chan is huge, it's hyperbole to think they're all paedophiles, most of them are just harmless anime nerds. But all that said I'm not defending the website as a bastion of all that is good, most of it drivel.
