You'll get abused, definately called a fag and a troll but guarenteed someone will tell you to delete system32. Boards it aint, mods are only there to remove the reall bad stuff, other than that its a free for all.

Yes I go there, Yes it's awesome and no AH isn't getting even a bit like it.
AH doesn't have the community spirit that that particular board does.

Sure, on the surface it all seems like links to sick videos and an endless sea of porn, memes and Chris Hanson...
But once you get through that and see the mentality underneath, it's so impressive.

The level of power that "Anonymous" as a group can( / does every now and again) inflict on the internet is crazy.
Most of the time the organized causes are something with purpose, something that isn't right and needs to be fixed, or just something really, really funny..

Once you get beyond all of the surface madness with the trolling and porn and inside jokes, there are a community of people on that site that are highly technologically adept and willing to donate there time and skills to a communal cause.
Just by definition of the way that the system works, they will never get appreciation for their specific efforts, they just want to be a productive part of an anonymous force.
One that is internationally recognised and has made a difference.

No it's nothing like After hours.

/b/ has been **** for years now, last time I remember it being truly fun was 2007. There is no community on /b/ anymore, as you say below is all about Anonymous now and /b/ has such an influx of users that it's almost impossible for a community to develop or keep up with the pace at which things move anymore. It used to be funny when /b/ would blame and convince their targets that emabumsworld were responsible for their pranks, now every prank they pull is just another notch on Anon's belt which they are oh so proud of.

Basically a bunch of unemplyed teens->early twenties who've taken Computer Science III and have **** all else to do with their free time. Been there, done that, got very ****ing boring very quickly.

That said I still frequent some 4chan boards which are quite relatively similar to After Hours in that they'll discuss the topics at hand but with a healthy dose of humour too.

Usually purely for the lolz though. I start to wonder if the 'good' they do, namely against Scientology, is really offset by all the **** they get up too.

And while there is some technologically adept people in the group, it's significantly comprised of willing teenage script kiddies.

it is an impressive community, although i also question the general intelligence of them for the most part, and i don't know what "good" they've ever done. although i do like a good meme. now all they do is jump on kids in tinychat and ruin their fun, and get excited when they get timestamped boobs.
