Do treadmills in gyms show distance in miles or in kilometres?

I've always been curious as to which one it is. I'm pretty sure it's miles, but I could well be wrong.

I don't know if it makes any difference, but the treadmills at the gym I go to are made by Cybex International.

Most treadmills will have a setting for selecting either miles or kilometers, and im pretty sure the one's in our gym are cybex and have this option.

The ones in my gym are miles and not changeable. Pain in the botty.

You can figure it out this way: Stick it on 10. If you're running very fast it's miles per hour. If you're jogging it's km. :)

both it depends on the setting.

the ones in TF sandyford are Life Fitness and are mostly on km's but have a few in miles. I guess its for peopel stuck in the stone age.

sure there really only gauges, best set your own pace, i.e figure out what speed you need to be going to give it 100% , 80% etc
