Wow the numbers are so small. 2-4 devices at one store.

Anyone know when this thing will go on sale again..i.e. next batch.. or a realistic time frame around being able to walk in and buy one? I'm guessing not for ages.

Will apple's online store have them in stock soon enough do you think?

Hot off the press!
3 is launching the iPhone 4 in our stores and online from 00:01am 30th July.
Even better news, with 3 you can get an iPhone 4 from as little €19. No matter what Bill Pay plan you choose, you get a whopping 2GB of data, free Wi-Fi and one Freebie Add-on. So you are free to use your new iPhone 4 to its full potential. And remember you can also get the iPhone 3GS from free.
Don't forget you need one form of identity and one proof of address if you are buying from our stores.

The city store is the only one that's opening at midnight - all of the info is on three.ie

How would current 3 customers rate 3's coverage/service/etc?

I'm probably going to miss any chance to upgrade this weekend, so assuming that the next batch are in at the end of August, I might go then and jump to another provider if there's a better deal out there.

Surely O2 and Vodafone have to run with midnight launches too.

If not, its a huge coup for 3

Their coverage is pretty good, they use the Vodafone network outside of the cities afaik. However, my only problem with them was that their customer support was dreadful. I remember going through a nightmare with them over an upgrade that I was due - it kept going back and forth over and over until I got fed up and jumped ship back to O2 (which led me to my first iPhone as it happens). Now, that was over a year and a half ago, they may have improved things... but all the same Id think twice before going back to them.

Just my two cents.

Everyone will sell out anyway so its not like they will lose business, so tempted to try Grafton street, but not sure how many they will have and there will be a big queue.

Hate those 3 price plans...very hard to understand...

putting it like this..

For the 32gb iphone4 model for the Classic Flex Max priceplan
I pay €319 for the phone and €40 a month thereafter which gives me
2GB data allowance plus 350 flexi-units which I can use for calls+ texts.
No point in putting towards internet as I'm getting the 2gb data plan with the plan....is this correct?
As for the free addon I'm presuming that since I'm getting the 2gb plan already then I don't need to select the internet max plan?

You can only get the free 2gb ad on (which is on top of your 2gb already included in the plan) if you choose the ultimate price plan.

So basically with the 40euro a month plan, you get 350 units for calls/texts/data outside the 2gb allowance, free WIFI and fre skype to skype calls.

Then your allowed pick 1 free ad on, but not the 2gb maxi ad on.

thanks :D sounds reasonable then for price plans.

Where is the free wi-fi? Bitbuzz, Eircom hotspots?

Are we sure the 2GB allowance is across the board?

It looks that way but then data add-ons wouldn't make sense.

I was told I could call into a three shop today and get all the paperwork sorted, not sure if it guarentees my the phone though.

• Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,663 ✭✭✭JoeyJJ

Also 1pm voda might have their plans up and they are unlikely to change from 3gs. Friend of a Friend, don't crucify my if wrong.

yep.I was just talking to the 3 store in Limerick. They could process 50 people's paperwork today but if they only get 20 handsets then the first 20 reference numbers get it..
You'd want to be absolutely retarded to just show up at a 3 store tomorrow night and expect to get an iphone..

Why the hell would they open at midnight if every phone is gone to a pre-signed customer? That's how riots start!
