Isnt there not some sort of ongoing court case in europe which is preventing google on rolling this out to more countries.

I'm pretty sure it isn't stopping them from adding more countries.

I read a statement from google online saying the ongoing court case was the reason why it has not been rolled out in Ireland and some other countries. If it was not for the court case Dublin would have been on it already.

Do you have a link to it?

I googled for "street view" "court" "ireland" and this topic was the first search result. The only other relevant result I got was a little article saying that Google had paused the image-taking for a month or two previously in order to stop the cars from mistakenly gathering wifi data. Nothing about a court case.

that is the issue, they had to stop while it was resolved and it was, hence their return to the streets

It was stopped for at most two months because of that... it was 16 months ago that they started taking the pictures of Ireland. Hardly enough of a pause for it to be claimed that there is a significant delay due to some legal issues.

Google streetview in Ireland will be launched tomorrow apparently. Will probably be just the cities to start with.

I wish they'd add proper satellite imagery for the whole of Ireland.. even if they used OSI's map it'd be better than it is now
