A little off topic... but the other day I saw countdown for the very first time in years. That Rachel Riley is fúcking smoking hot. Like, I'd seen pictures and already knew she was hot, but when I saw her actually on the show, it was like I was hypnotized by her sheer hotness.

    Anyone agree, disagree?

    Anyone?

isn't it hilarious that nobody ever comes out to defend north korea?...
By the looks of things, they are well able (at least according to them) to be able to look after themselves - and that goes for the states too whom by the way, I'm not defending their actions either.

Like I said above, there is no good guys here, just over self-inflated ego's to begin with I suspect!

Wiki says 1.2 million armed soldiers.

On the DPRK army wiki page it's down as 1.9 million active personel with 9.7 million reserve.

While I think this number is inflated, I'd say the actual reserve is still around the 4.5 million mark.

I honestly don't think anything is going to kick off, China doesn't want US military personel stationed on it's doorstep (their tacit support of the DPRK whenever it gets itself into trouble is based almost completely on this) and Seoul is only around 35 miles from the border. China/DPRK versus USA/RoK wouldn't benefit anyone in any way, shape or form.

I think that 90% of the North Korean population would rather get nuked than than put up with the **** knobs and cnuts running the country. It would sort their food shortage problem out in a flash, or several flashes.

They make the Somali pirates, or even the Taliban, look like Oxfam volunteers.

America should raise their bluff and ****ing nuke that hell hole or do something to destroy it. I feel somewhat sorry for the innocent people trapped there, death is more freedom than what they get right now.

North Korea sank a South Korean warship... hello??

Who gives a toss what's been found in Afghanistan. South Korea needs allies here and I'm glad the Americans are stepping up.
It could have been anyone even the Chinese have there doubts.

The North Korean leadership just wants to its greasy hands on what their southern neighbours have built up over the past 60 years. Of course, they could be on the scrounge for a hand-out again, and are trying the old blackmail trick.

The Chinese ALWAYS have their conveniently timed doubts when its comes to North Korea and their close complicated relationship with them.

    N. Korea may one well one day kick some stuff off but it's funny because their main source of confidence comes from their alliance with China. N. Korea needs China but China will not roll over and die without N. Korea. A posturing North Korea reminds me somewhat of a scene from the Simpsons episode "Lemon of Troy" :

America: Hey, nobody hassles my little Korea.
    N. Korea: Hey! And no one manhandles the bosom chum of China. Spring forth, burly protector, and save me! *China steps out from behind a tree*
China : Aw, jeez. I never hang out with him, normally. *throws America off Korea*
Korea: [skipping around China and singing] Hark to the tale of China, 'N' the Korea she loved so dear. They remained the best of friends for years and years and years.

America could do nothing, they can't even win a war against a bunch of tribe men in the desert.

Nor could the Russians - but then the Americans by back door routes supplied many of the Afgans their weapons then!

You know, being nuked is not so bad, the male survivors, living in underground bunkers, tunnels and mine shafts would need to 'marry' several women simultaneously, to repopulate the world's surface after our 300 odd year subterranean existence ~~~ bet you most of us [men] won't want to leave.

The thought from Stanley Kubrick's Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb

Arthur C. Clarke brought up the same notion in his forth book in the "Rama" series of books.
One of the characters had multiple other half's in order to increase numbers.
