Your opinions on Transsexuals

    I was in a heated debate on the LGBT forum about Transsexuals, I was bombarded with abuse from the forum after giving my honest opinion on the topic.

    So AH, what's your opinion on trans genders? I have respect for them for pursuing their lifelong dreams. They're very brave.

    As long as their happy it's not my concern. If they tell me to call them John that's fine, if they tell me to call them Susan then that's fine too.

    I can't remember the first time I found out what a transsexual was but I don't think I've ever thought they were weird or "freaks",I was just really interested in how it happens and wanted to know more.

    Just another thing I wanted to know about really.
    I think they're really brave for doing what they do and standing up against ridicule.

    I think transgender people are somewhat blackballed by everyone because what they are is so at odds with modern ways of thinking and schooling. A lot of people will never understand what being transgendered really means because of this. It is impossible for most of us (myself included) to fathom the depth of emotional distress caused by being trangender, because for most of us it will never be an issue.
    Transgender people deserve to be treated the same as everybody else as they are the same as everyone else. They aren't some race of mythical aliens or scary sexual predators out to trick straight people into gay sex, I hate to break it to everyone but what happens in porn is not always real. They are people, who deserve respect just the same as anyone else.

    I'd agree that they one who are genuinely transsexual are very brave people. But those who got the operation done for other reasons are just plain cowardly.
