Simply wondering, why do people hate Twilight so much?

I recently started reading the books, haven't seen any of the movies yet, but I think the books are great!

cos the people who like it are mostly semi retarded teenage girls.
it isn't all bad though, to be fair..it's just the majority audience are idiots so it doesn't attract anyone else.

I actually like it quite funny in parts.I dont know many people who hate it after they saw it.But then again everyone has different taste.

I don't hate it but feel its too drawn out as a film and boring.
...But thats just my taste of it and everyone's different.

I'm told by the wife the books are much, much better.
This would not surprise me.
