How much do you spend on drink and drugs?

Now its about 1%, and I don’t mind a bit.

Couldn't say for definite what is breaks down to per week. I get paid by the month so i usually have one blow out near the end of each month just before pay day. On one of these nights I'd say it's around 120 quid on drink. 50 quid on hash and 280 for a quart of coke. But these are usually all-dayers. From half 12 till 4am or later.

Suppose if you were to break that down it would work out about 100ish a week.

i used to drink two bottles of jack daniels a day but that almost killed me. now i drink at least 100 cans of tuburg a week which is expensive enough. the thing is if i drink 20 cans in one session i'm just tipsy. i can never get drunk i can always do what needs to be done. but i'm going to give it all up soon as it is a complete waste of money it's a habit now more than anything else. but i tried to give it up 2 months ago and the dt's were so bad i managed two weeks without it and i fell back into it again. second time lucky i hope next month. i'm an alcoholic i know that but it's time to get on with life now forsure more important things need to be done in life than keep this **** up. if i don't i will be like this. if i do i will be like this a whole new transformation lol.

Really varies from week to week though-sometimes i mightn't drink for a month on other occasions I might go out 4 nights in a row so I can't really give you an average.

i dont know why you would want to drink Tuborg manky beer drank it when i was Knacker drinking & its not even the cheapest anymore. you can buy cans of Carlesberg now €1 a can in some places...

Price of drugs is all about supply and demand. (They make for fun examples in economics exams)

The problem with MDMA is supply based. China has banned export of *insert incredably long chemical name* and this chemical is required in the manufacturering of MDMA.

What has replaced MDMA in recent years has been a range of pills made with varying substances such as ketamine and cut speed. The quality ranges from o.k to ****e and you end up feeling runied the next day.

Most of the legal drugs supass the ''pills''on the street these days.

Was in Thailand last summer and ever since I came back I haven't been able to enjoy nights out in Dublin like I used to. After 3 months of going to nightclubs and drinking €0.75 bottles of beer (Chang or Singha, 6.4%) and €4 Buckets (Naggen of Whiskey, Red Bull and Coke) every day it's hard coming back here and paying €5 for a pint of Heineken or €8 for a JD and Coke.

The clubs in Dublin are woeful when compared to those in the rest of Europe, everything is massively overpriced, most of the people are either stuck up twats or complete scumbags, door charges are ridiculous, the place dies at 2.30am and taxi's are a rip off.

It's getting harder and harder to have an active social life in Dublin, especially when you're a student that has rent to pay, a car to run and has to set-aside other everyday expenses before even thinking about going out on a Saturday night and blowing €100-€150 on a few drinks with the lads. Much prefer sessions in a gaff to be honest. Get 20 bottles for €18 and you're sorted for the night.

Don't do drugs really, might have a sniff every now and again (5-6 times a year maybe) or if the lads are having a joint or two I'll take a few pulls.

Maybe about €40 a week on drink. Really depends though.

I no longer take drugs. But I even when I took drugs a lot I never spend much money on them, because of reasons I won't mention here. (no, I was not a hooker!)

I go out probably once a month these days and usually get rid of 70 to 100 quid on drink and taxis. So at most, that makes 25 quid a week! Yeah thats how I roll.

I agree completey with the poster who was in Thailand. Its an eye-opener to go to countries where people arent routinely robbed on a night out. Spent afew days in Krakow lately, 2 euro for a pint of some of the nicest beer ive ever tasted.

Nah, pre-recession, when I was in college and had a part time job ~ €250. Nowadays with no regular work and not claiming the scratcher it's about a tenner a week, ranging up to €100 if I get some hours in work.

Comparing Ireland to Thailand is kind of pointless to be honest. Sure the price of drink and indeed the cost of living in general is far far cheaper in Thailand but its also still a developing country. The average wage of a pilot there is $1000 dollars per month while a dentist is $725 or so and this is before tax. The wages in Thailand are so extremely low and hence the cost of all other services has to be low also or no one would buy their products. You simply cannot compare Ireland, a developed nation with Thailand, a developing one. Its like comparing the speed of a a bicycle to that of an aeroplane, you can do it but its a pointless exercise unless you take alll the other facotrs into consideration.

I have never taken drugs so zero on that and as a rule zero on drink, except for an extremely rare pint of beer 3 or 4 times a year.

I tend to only have one drink a week when at home or might not drink at all during the week. I don't go out every week either so my spending on drink can vary from week to week. Usually amounts to not more than €50 except if I'm out for a weekend away or out all night or when going out if I'm away from home!!;)
I don't do drugs and I don't smoke never have never will! :cool:

though thats with the pre drinking for hours in my gaff before hand haha but thats with lidl drink 5e for 10 250ml mini bottles of beer works out at 1e a can haha.

on the thailand subject i know where your coming from with the not being able to enjoy the nights out. i spent last summer and the summer before last there and its just unreal how it works over there.if your in need of a buzz toppin up, just get a bucket of whiskey for 300 baht haha

OK then, Spain. €2 pints there that cost €5 here. Doesn't really matter what country you compare prices to, Irish people are ripped off every day when it comes to basic things like food, drink, etc.

Could be buying for a group. A lot of people in small towns have to travel to get drugs and are forced to buy in bulk.

Easily enough, and I would also include cover charges into clubs etc in my calculations as in reality this comes under drinking money. Anyway if I do a very conservative calculation

8 pints @ 4euro each = 32
2 double captain morgans and coke = 24 euro (at least)
4 jager bombs = 28

Total = 84 euro Multiply that by 2 nights and you have 170 euro and add in a few pints here and there during the week and your not far off at all. I dont think the poll does refer's to one nights spend but rather a weeks or weekends spend.

Depends on the week but I imagine itd be €50ish most weeks, €50-€100 other weeks! I usually pre-drink beforehand and I go out 1-2 nights a week, then spend prob €30 on drinks while Im out per night.
