is it a data only sim card? just wondering because you said it works in all iphones. you couldn't use it as a regular sim card could you?

You could of course use it as a normal SIM card, but you'd be stark staring. It offers 3Gb of data for 5€. Anything else is extra and, unless you're in a relationship with an Italian who wishes to call you all the live-long day for free, may I direct you to the nearest Irish phone shop? :-)

was just wondering if it came with more options than the 3gb for €5. I guess that would be too perfect :)

Sounds cool though. A friend of mine from italy is going back over soon so I might see if he can get me one.

If you finish the 3gb can you just spend another €5 and refresh it or do you have to wait for the next month? also, do you have to pay for the card itself? is it called superinternet or something like that? is there a webpage for more info on it?

sorry for all the questions :D

It's my first month too, so I don't know all the answers apart from the obvious but:

I don't think you can add an extra 3Gb.
I think you have to wait until rollover.
The card costs both 13€ and 15€ -3/5€ it seems for the SIM, first month is free, then 10€ for the following 2 months. Then top up. 5€ will be automatically debited from outstanding balance.
I have two, at those two distinct prices. One is called super web and the other power web. I don't know the difference but super web appears to include 600 Skype minutes.

    For Ipad owners,

Does fact that it doenst have flash not completely turn you off? I watch literally everything on my PC (TV/Movies/Documentarys/RTE Player/4OD) i mean i relish the idea of having the ipad in my lap as i watch things sitting on my bed or other streaming needs but simply i cant, there is no flash so i will probably never get one unless that changes.

I actually got a work around for the iPhone which allows me to use Megavideo (iMobileCinema) on the iPhone which is great, wonder if that works with the iPad?

No. Everyone who bought an iPad knows the deal with flash. If you want to watch flash "things" sitting on your bed, then there may be a hack on the way. See other threads.

lol well i can see how that sounds haha! No i just meant in general that would be the ultimate appeal to me, being able to watch tv shows / movies etc.

Not in the least. The idea of watching a movie on a laptop seems so antiquated nowadays. I stream movies from my iMac through my son's xbox and onto our TV. From time to time I'll watch one on my iMac if the TV's in use. My poor iBook's been gathering dust since I bought an iPad. Having said that I did watch Shutter Island on my iPad last night, but that's another day's work.

You can just disconnect the US plug connection from the iPad charger, and use a Macbook / iPhone wall charger.

I was an eejit and left the iPad charger behind on the assumption I could use my iPod / iPhone charger, but was unaware the iPad charges at 5V, 2A as opposed to the iPhone / iPod's 5V, 1A. Hence it being slower..!

    :(

OK so WOW is the word in my head,
So first imression was "large iPod"
Now a few hours later it is so much more. I have purchased PureVPN for US and UK. Downloaded ABC, HULU & BBC iPlayer beta. stunning when the vpn is set up. games are great, some great aps for the kids... loads of fun ahead

Good to hear your enjoying it BrookieD.

Recommend jailbreaking it too for stuff like Backgrounder.

Signed up with BlackVpn at the weekend. Loving the BBC iplayer, watched a great movie with a great title, Anvil - The Story of Anvil, and a few comedies on it. Great picture quality, far better than ABC and the Hulu preview thing. Would that be because of the blackvpn servers or at their end?

Anyways if anyone wants two months free when they sign up they can use the code QSDUMBY I used a random code from this thread when I signed up.

Now that 3 Ireland are intending releasing dedicated iPad plans, the 3 Italy SIM may become less attractive. But it will see me right until that day.

I lost my MacBook wall charger I'm using the extension cable it came with to charge my macbook and my iPhone charger takes ages to charge it.

I just signed up to Black VPN for 3 months using a code from boards.
I received 2 emails, one with instructions and the other included a PDF invoice which should have included a Username and password.
But I cannot see a Username and password anywhere :o am I missing something?
