Does déjà vu count as "paranormal"?

it could be, i actually dont know, the white witch told me that you dream your whole life a few days before you're born,so you remember things/places you've never been to when you see them for the first time..i dont really believe that! theres so many different explainations but no scientific evidence.

*If ghosts are dead people, at what point along our evolutionary journey did our ancestors start becoming ghosts? Are there ghost primates, ghost mammals, ghost fish, ghost micro-organisms, ghost proteins and amino acids, ghost atoms or ghost quarks and leptons? Where's the line?
    :)

Well, ghost fish don't sell tarot readings or psychic readings to live fish, they don't gain the attention of live fish by claiming they see deceased fish, and they don't get tv shows or phone lines aimed at convincing live fish that they're in contact with dead fish, and they don't fill up newspaper columns with horoscope readings that lump all the fish population into predefined fish personality types.

Ghost fish make crap storytellers too, so no one wants to listen to their creepy stories of banshees and zombie trout or whatever. Theres no money in psychic fish, strangely.:)

I'm starting to think fish are smarter than people.

Its all about the audience and what they'll buy, literally or figuratively.

People just let their imaginations run away with them.

Some people want to believe something so bad that they see and think things.

    Think religion, except with ghosts...

I think this is exactly what it is, people want to believe riddiculous ghost stories so much they allow themselves to ignor pointless things like logic and common sense and are open to been easily fooled.

With all the technology out their how come someone still has not found any proof? Because it's all a pile of sh**e. I think believing in the supernetural is very childish and incredibly silly.

    Re. post 51
First I should say as a third generation atheist, I really don’t believe in afterlives etc..
    This took place around 1994.
The location was Beechwood House, Beechwood Avenue, Ranelagh, Dublin 6
The background... Some friends from Mayo had rented the first floor apartment on the right of the door looking up the year previously, I had often stayed over and from time to time had walked about looking for the source of an annoying draft, wetting my finger and not finding any breeze or direction, thought it was weird, but hey?
The following year some of the lads were moving elsewhere which left a room and two girls all old friends moved in. This was where things started to get weird. The lads had often joked about seeing the clock spinning backwards and pictures jumping off the wall but had never mentioned such to me until one evening when I was hassled with the seriously cold draft again and got up to explore its source. I was called outside by Declan who told me that the place could be haunted, and that the girls were getting freaked out as they were having weird dreams, feeling like they were being assaulted in their sleep and waking to find scratches proportional to human nail marks across their bodies. Alan one of the lads staying there was going out with one of the girls and had told Declan this in confidence.
Anyway, the frequency and severity of “happenings” seemed to get worse. One night my girlfriend (now wife) and I were staying over on the couch in the front room, the girls Alan and Declan in the back room and Gar and his girlfriend in another room. (All the events took place in the front room, backroom and kitchen, which once were evidently a single room, typically it would kick off with the smell of burning hair, and a freezing cold) I digress... So this night around 3-4am one of the girls runs out hysterically screaming, inconsolable. I’m leaving... I’m not f**King staying here any longer... etc. Her boyfriend ran out, my wife and I jumped up wondering who had been killed, and Gar and his other half raced out of the side room. Across the girls face were deep cuts, that could only have been done by another person clawing her, and we all looked at the boyfriend initially, him looking at us stating it wasn’t him... you can imagine. Dec from the backroom lets out a shout and he and his girlfriend also run out terrified, seemingly a match box had floated across the room.
I won’t dwell too much on this but the next day it was agreed something had to be done, Dec and me had no belief in this kind of craic, we were thinking “ball lightning” etc... The girls wanted an exorcism or at least a mass said etc. So they went to Rathmines where they were directed to Ranelagh once the address was given. In Ranelagh the priest agreed to say a mass, but tried to reassure them that it wasn’t anything demonic, and probably a weird natural occurrence. But once they gave the address he (according to the girls) seemed to turn about on all help offered, and refused to do the mass, and told that they should leave the house.
On returning to the house (we were all there) the girls were raging, and the girl with the scratched face called up her landlord, she asked if anything strange had ever been reported, and if someone had been burned in the house at some time, to which she says she got a disproportionately aggressive response the landlord threatening to sue her if “she spread malicious rumours” Meanwhile a week before a friend of the girl had rented a bedsit elsewhere in Ranelagh. That night after the priest’s refusal the girls agreed and decided to move in with their friend. All of us stayed around to help with the move, and later that night we all crashed over at the bedsit. The girls face at this stage was infected and badly swollen, the next day was for me the one weird thing I have no answer for, we all woke up and were speechless once we saw her, there wasn’t a mark on her face.
So there’s the story, strange thing was that we all wanted to find out about it, was there a fire and someone burnt? Etc.. But no matter how often we decided to check out the history, we’d all forget to do so, now we’d really mean to check this out, to put it in perspective, when I set my mind to something I do it, hence all the international sanshou titles, but for whatever reason I can’t seem to remember to do this. Likewise with everyone else involved. So it’s kinda strange the PM from Abrasax, I’m waiting for the power to out on my computer or something right now !!! :D
    Still and atheist though!!

Historically there's always been way more sightings etc of ghosts but these were always dismissed but religion was still followed.
Ghosts are more believable imo and I don't believe in either.
