    There used to be a chinese take-away across the road from the Central Mental Hospital, Dundrum. It was called The Great Wall.

    (For anyone that is unfamiliar with the hospital it is surrounded by an enormously high wall).




    Wasn't there a video shop in Gorey called..."Gorey Videos"?

    Hairdressers on college road in Cork: "Curl Up and Dye".

    There was one with exactly the same name on St Anne's Road in Drumcondra here in Dublin. Gone now though.

    Also in Drumcondra, the chipper known as the Perki Chick.

    i remember in school our lcvp teacher asked everyone something that our town needs, one lad said "pawn shop", all of us looked around shocked and laughing thinking it was something more filthy! :P

    Anyone ever see any shop names that made them laugh?

    One that sticks in my mind is a lingerie shop i seen in the UK called "Thong in cheek"


    My local hairdressers' is called "Curl up and Dye". Always loved that.
    I also heard of a take away here in Belfast called "For Cod and Ulster" but I have never seen it myself.

    I believe it is called the "Good Fry-day Agreement". Had a menu from that place but don't know where it is now.

    A hairdressers over in England that used to be called 'Public Hair'. The 'L' kept getting stolen from the sign, so they eventually gave up replacing it.....It is now known as 'Pubic Hair'.
