Just back from Dundrum, picked up a Gamecube w/ manuals, 1 controller, memory card, donkey conga + bongo's, Mario smash football and some WWE game.

Pretty much all mint, im well happy with it! Will post some pics when i get the chance.

    Now, any game recommendations?

First on the list for me is some Resi games, then Smash Bros.

Nice! Was that at the car boot sale?

Picked up a gamecube there myself today. No controller or games just the console, power supply and av cables. Was only a fiver :) I'll probably put it up for trade though, don't particularly need a 3rd cube and would much prefer a NES or SNES :D

Also spotted a boxed (and pretty excellent condition box too I might add) PS1 value pack. I would have gotten it but decided to leave it because a) I really really don't need any more PS1's, b) I just got a boxed PS1 yesterday and c) she wanted €50 for it with a load of crap games + 2 dance mats and extra controllers, and she wasn't willing to sell the PS1 separately. Also seen a GBA SP, but again left it as it was too expensive and in very bad condition. Was also the tribal one and I don't like them at all :P

Seen that PS1 myself alright, had to turn it down though. One mint boxed one is enough for me.

That GC was a bargain, was trying to find a few games but alas, only a tonne of ps1/2 & xbox games to be found.

Yeah there wasn't much games wise there this time. Just your usual pick & mix of Fifa's and Pro evos :P

    Anything else?

Oh yeh, got a handfull of ps2 games, 99c in Xtra-game today. Ex-retals with no boxes, but could'nt go wrong.

Got it in Dundrum market btw.

Trying to think. Super Mario Sunshine, Luigi's Mansion. Those should be easy enough to come across. Also Battalion Wars.

Any shops around that would still deal in maybe 2nd hand GC games? Been looking on adverts, not too much on offer there.

There were a few in my local xtra-game brand new before xmas, but they were sent back to head office apparently:(

Im trying to remember where i seen a few, cash converters? (prob pricey anyway)

I've a heap of gamecube doubles if you're interested- resi, the two metroid primes, the two star wars rogue squadron games, wario ware, f-zero etc...! Good few more!

The GC version of Skies of Arcadia is considered to be better though isn't it? Have only played the DC version so wouldn't know

kool, interested in any trades or just cash? If trades, what would you be looking for?

I'd be willing to listen to trades anyway, sure anything that takes my fancy i'd be happy to trade! Particularly interested in dc and gc games. Sure drop me a pm there.

Never played the dc version of skies, but the gc version is meant to be a bit of a directors cut- few added quests and events, and a lesser random encounter rate with shorter load times.

Just home from France, where I came upon a nice car boot sale yesterday.

Lots and lots of junk but I did manage to pick up a few things that were decent.

This psOne for a tenner (incl memory card and one psOne controller).
    63030464_thumb.jpg

A couple of playstation games for a quid each (fairly rubbish but wanted quake 2 and figured grabbing the others was no harm)
    63030454_thumb.jpg
Unfortunately, X Files and Duke Nukem are both fully in French. :(

And in what I thought was easily the best deal I've ever got, a massive bundle all for €15 consisting of:

These lovely boxed mega drive games:

    63030458_thumb.jpg
    63030460_thumb.jpg
    63030461_thumb.jpg
    63030456_thumb.jpg

    This master system fella:
    63030459_thumb.jpg

    A lonely nes cartridge:

    And the piece de resitence:
    63030462_thumb.jpg
A boxed 32x (few bumps to the box though).

But wait for it... opening it up I found it to be PRETTY MUCH BRAND NEW!!

Are all those 32X parts factory sealed????

I hate to be a sealed game narc, but for the love of god, don't open that up! You'd get a fortune for it on ebay!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 15,183 ✭✭✭✭Atavan-Halen

Oooh too late. He just tore up the box and ripped it all open and threw the packaging into a fire :pac:

    Extremely nice find :)

Also been meaning to play Wipeout myself Jack, nice pickups there :)

They seem to be, and I haven't gone ripping anything apart just yet. I'll look closer and take better pics when I get it home via car at the end of the summer (wasn't gonna risk stuffing anything into my hand luggage for the journey home).

My Mega Drive is broken at the moment so even if I had it here I'm not in any rush to start using it til I fix that.

When I've made my fortune selling cheap 3D glasses to unsuspecting victims I've always fancied the idea of splurging on something rare and sealed just to open it up and make people who care about sealed things cry sweet, sweet tears.

Oooh! More family attic treasures? If it's a PAL Saturn you'll need to get it 60hz modded. Although I'm sure you'll be buying a Japanese one too.. ;)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,798 ✭✭✭Jack burton

haha yeah, its more the PAL dreamcast i want, and modding needed to that?

Nope. One thing the Dreamcast is great for is having 60hz options in games.

Plus you'll also be able to play backups of your...legally bought games without any modification ;)

yeah sure all my stacks of games are in storage with yours, aswell as my hundreds of arcade cabs. It really is a godsend that vast storage facility we have access too!

Got Star Wars Arcade for the 32x off segasega earlier.

All set now to try it out when the hardware gets here from France.

Heh, seriously man, you'd be crazy to open that 32X if it's sealed.

Check it out. And this is a common as muck NTSC model. PAL ones are harder to get and sell for more. In fact there isn't a single sealed PAL 32X on ebay right now.

If you are going to open it though, film it just to annoy all those sealed game collector freaks :D

Even a complete boxed unsealed one seems to go for a few quid -
