    Hey all..

    Not the biggest calorie counter in the world, but I was looking at this today and it made me a little surprised.

    You know those €2 dinners in Aldi/Lidl...these ones;

    Well.. according to the box (they come in Roast beef, chicken and turkey variations) they all come in at under 400 calories. Yet, a single slice of bread I seen earlier, was 77 calories.

    Does that seem right?

    Seems (to me, anyway) like there's a lot in these dinners for them to only be 380 Calories (roast beef).

    :confused:

    When you open them up, they tend to look a lot less inspiring than the packet. But yes, any reasonable portion of meat and veg dinner should come in at around 400 cals without having to work at it.

    Bread is deceptive, it has a lot more cals than you'd think to look at it.

    Well I eat them a fair bit. Bought them before out of curiousity, for €2 I expected them to be horrid, but I think they're lovely.

    Never paid any attention to the calories though, and when I compared them to a slice of bread, I was quite surprised.

    So the 380 seems normal then. I wasn't sure if they were doing something to the food or fudging numbers around somehow to have less calories on the box.

    Pretty cool.

    Cheers Eileen.
