It is possibly a bit early for a thread for this game, but new teaser trailer from Treyarch for Black Ops is out on youtube now.

From looking at this, I didn't make out much.

But these guys have done a decent frame by frame de-construction of it and come up with some interesting points about possible additions to the game.

As you mentioned, it is hard to tell exactly whats going on in the trailer but hopefully its a decent game.

There's people all ready raving about this game purely from the trailer, to me its just a blur with video images and will reflect no comparision to the real game play.

Did you look at the second video? They freeze frame the images and pick out bits of relevant info.

I'm betting of the Vietnam missions will be very similar to Apocalypse Now, the trailer reminds me of that movie, and one level in W@W was pretty much identical to a scene from Enemy At The Gates. It would also suit the title of Black Ops

Does Anyone Else Think That The Way Modern Warfare 2 Is Sometimes Referred To As MW2 That Black Ops Will Be Referred To As BO Or Body Odour ?

Developers have been fairly influenced by movies. In MW2, there were a few references to The Rock. The shower room battle and the flares at the end of Whiskey Hotel.

Or CODBO. I like the sound of 'Black Ops', nice and sufficient!

What are people's thoughts on the way theyre working the killstreaks in black ops , will it stop some of the camping or make it even worse

I would have thought it might actually be the same , if not worse

And for the time, damn fantastic they were too. Even to this day, they've got a very admirable cinematic feel to them - no FPS game has actually really attempted to recreate d-day since, so we're left with a PS2/Xbox title holding the crown, though the Cliff scaling in COD2 was rather excellent too, but just not quite the same as a frontal beach assault. Another honorable mention goes to D-Day in Allied Assault, but that's even pre Call of Duty original, also Dog One in Day of Defeat 3.0, absolutely fantastic beach invasion level, but again, that's going back about 8 years, and the one in Day of Defeat Source isn't as good, and there's no other FPS MP games that really feature D-Day either.

The scene in World at War when the Germans are driving past the fountain filled with bodies ala Enemy at the Gates was fantastic.

Couldn't really tell much from the original trailer but the second video pointed out a lot things that look great.

Can't wait for it, starting to get a bit bored of mw2.

Actually I did... What do you mean by saying that?

Right on. I'd love if Apocalypse now got the same treatment in Black Ops, would make my spine shiver with awesomeness:D

In fairness, I've had MW2 since November, and only recently finished the game itself... I've been online at all other times, so its the online part i'd be curious about

Same as, bought MW2 originall on 360 on launch day, sold the 360 at xmas for a PS3, got MW2 on that in Feb, been playing it solidly since, we're talking 1-2 hours a night, which is a great value out of a game (even if it drives me fcuking nuts sometimes :D)

I generally tend to finish the one player campaign within a day or so, then its all out on the online games :) i got mine in November MW2 when it was released, finished the game within two days tops, and since then i have been playing it non stop, occasionally playing Fallout 3 instead lol :)

its just the multiplayer i am really interested in too.

I must be the only one interested in the single player mode. :P

I like the Breach video above but not totally crazy on the helicopter level.

First thing i usually play is the single player mode , and in fairness to treyarch , waw was a lot tougher than mw and mw2.

In saying that the single mode can be finished in a couple of hours then its online.

I still very skeptical, waw was a let down.

World at War received high marks in virtually every review (Averaging 85%) and sold 13,000,000 copies - yes, Treyarch really needed to learn a lesson with that under performer!
