I wouldn't wear a jersey from any other nationality but it is something that seems to be a regular occurrence here. I have seen loads of people walking around in France/ Argentina jerseys.

True, personally I don't wear any club or county jersey be it rugby, GAA or soccer (however I do own a Robbie Fowler t shirt or two) but if I was to wear an Argentina jersey in cork no one would think I was anything but a Cork dude wearing an Argentina jersey, however if I was to wear an English jersey folks may well think I am English. Being Irish, that wouldn't suit me.

That's not anti English either so I hope no one starts that sh1t.

I wouldn't see that as anti-English, it's your choice what jerseys you choose to wear as are your reasons behind it.

I agree. I wouldn't give my English mates stick for wearing an England jersey obviously, but I would torture my Irish mates. An Irish person wearing an English jersey just screams "attention seeker." "OOH look at me and how I'm so above this Irish English rivarly thing." Pathetic..
Wearing it just for attention is pathetic, but thinking the England rivalry thing is just ridiculous is not pathetic.
The only foreign jersey I'd wear is Italy. For two reasons. 1) They always look cool. 2) My grandfather's italian.

I won't be supporting England in the world cup. Not becuase of the 800 years sh1t, simply because I don't like them. Their players are sex addicted chavs. No class.

    Italia all the way!

I don't think you guys are anti English or obsessed with the 800 years thing, but you still come across as a bit hostile about the England jersey-wearing thing. I mean, if it's acceptable for an Irish person to wear an Italy jersey, why not any foreign jersey, including an England one?

If I answered the bit not in bold it may come across in such a way that you reconsidered the bit in bold so I won't ;)

I can't understand why an Irish person would wear an English jersey, I suppose it's all that Three Lions malarchy, dunno really. The English soccer jersey obviously carries emblems and whatnot that the English folk are rightly proud of, as an Irish chap I couldn't really agree with Irish folk wearing one, unless they had English parents or something :)

Oops, I answered it :o I'm playing a stormer tonight, I reckon I may have bothered folks in the armed response thread too :o

I backed Spain to win the World Cup a few hours ago, fairly big bet on a favourite which is against all of my betting principles but if 'twas a league they'd be 6/4 I reckon. Also had a bet on a Brazil / Spain final, if Spain beat Brazil in the final I'll be tempted to get a Spanish jersey :D
