    Well fcuk me, lol.
They are, but his mother claimed on TV that he's actively seeking employment - how did he propose to do that while swanning around the med?.

She also claimed he was arrested for damaging a US aircraft at Shannon airport, but I can't find anything online about that.

Yea, but nobody can actively seek work when on holidays. Come on man...

So just talking to a mate of mine who is living in Israel at the moment. In the media, he says that they have pictures of weapons that were on the ship. No links though.

He also said that if the Irish ship doesn't cooperate with them then "god knows what will happen"...

He says that the ships can be let through if they are escourted and they are allowed to board.

Only reciting what he says, doesn't reflect my opinion on the matter or anything of the likes.

There are plenty of stories floating around, some are very very interesting, and from peicing together what I have heard, I am begining to form an opinion, but I think I will be fcuked from a height if I don't outright damn Israel and 100% support Hamas, right?

If your opinion can be backed up by facts or proof what is there to be scared of?

Also, what exactly do Hamas have to do with this incident?

Because, obviously, from reading this thread, if you are pro israeli you are a scumbag. That's the mob rule I guess.

The news that we are getting, where is it all comming from? Just a thought ;)

Opinions don't need to be backed up by anything, it's an opinion. No proof is needed to form an opinion but it does help, that's why I have not given my opinion on the matter yet. I have only talked about certain aspects of the story.

Also, who says i'm scared ;)

    Thanks.

Reading that sheds more light on just how savage the attack on the IDF personnel was.

Staff.Sgt.S is the type of soldier I want taking my back, legend.

We understand. We know that you believe that an armed commando shooting dead 6 unarmed protesters in international waters is a legend. Should the investigation carried out on the status of the protester's welfare payments be done by the Israeli's alone, or an international body?
(unarmed = cannot defend themselves against automatic weapons)

This 'legend' already had judged them as a “mob of mercenaries”. He also said “These were without a doubt terrorists. I could see the murderous rage in their eyes and that they were coming to kill us."

One thing though: the activists were not the ones that were 'coming to kill'. As far as I can recall, it was the commandos that repelled down the ropes (or maybe that was something that the activists rigged).

Guess you didn't read the article either, they had a gun to his commanding officers head, any soldier worth his salt would have done the same. Where you getting the automatic weapons part from?

Don't try make Makikomi out to be some sort of a blood thirsty, supporter of illegal killings. That's very very weak.

He said he saw one of the passengers holding a seized pistol to another Israeli commando’s head.

The 'he' there is the idf soldier.

You'd think that israel would be in a hurry to release that full unedited footage they have of this entire incident unfolding wouldn't you ?

Unlike most posting here, Makikomi has military experience.

That is not the be all and end all.

BUT I would certainly accept his take when opposed to the biased armchair terrorists who inhabit these pages.

Seems like some are welfare punters who would be better advised looking for a job and paying taxes to get IRELAND out of a hole.

That is all we have to go on at the moment, if you have any links to prove otherwise, please do post them, I would be interested in reading both sides of the story.

Beats me, i'll still hold my judgement until I hear more. Like a court case, there is more and more added to this story, and you would be pretty niave to pass judgement this early...

Well what has that got to do with anything in fairness?

First the goal of the aid ships was attacked, now we have degenerated into attacking the individuals involved.

The only armchair terrorists on this forum are those that condone the piracy and murder of 9 innocent unarmed peace activists on a humanitarian mission in international waters.

Anyway, still have to find out if they were actually "peaceful" activists. From what I hear, they were weilding bars and knives before anybody set foot on the ships, but lets wait until we hear more, shall we?

That's uncalled for. Just because we do NOT support the murder of protesters does not equate us to armchair terrorists.

    And regarding
they had a gun to his commanding officers head

I am not going to believe the 'legend' who shot 6 people dead. By the way, was it just one gun to the commanding officer's head? Or were there multiple people holding the one gun to his head? When you tell a lie, it comes back to haunt to you.

They as in the group, activists, not as in more than one person held a hand gun to one mans head, it's a figure of speach, really... How is that even possible?

Well that's the only story we have from this certain incident. Until others arise, this is all we can go by. The gun was taken from another officer who was held below deck, stripped and bound by the "activists", this part of the story comes from one of people on board the floatillas. Should we believe that too or?

    Just for the record...

I for one, DO NOT support the murder of protesters.

No , they are genuine people oppressed in their own homeland and I would always extend the hand of friendship.

It's punters who never did a days work in their lives and sashay round the globe, at Irish taxpayers expense, on various vicarious causes and supposed wrongdoings that get my auld feathers ruffled.

Like the 2 million those fcukers cost the Govt. when they took the axe to US plane in SNN.

    Did they pay it?

    Did they fcuk!!!

    Who paid for it?

    JOHN Q TAXPAYER did.

So like a good man get down off your red pinto and suck in a good draught of reality sonny!!

Kivaro, remember now - "lies come back to haunt".

You stated earlier in the thread that you were in the army.

Disregarding the nationality of the personnel involved in this boarding, would you care to give the discussion at least three times in the boarding underwhich you would have been covered in firing ball ammunition?..

And remember "Lies come back to haunt".

Some served time in jail, good enough for them. How do you suggest they pay for it exactly? Either way, I don't condone it, but don't take a swipe at people on social welfare because of one tosspots actions a few years back. If he is on that flotilla legally, then no problem, if he is not legally there, then let the social welfare office investigate it.

You need more than a draught of reality it seems.

Where the fcuk in the world do you come from anyway?

So what if they were "welding iron bars" they were only defending themselves and their property against trigger happy pirates using lethal weapons.

One would expect the exact same if they were travelling through the Gulf of Aden.

I'm not taking a swipe at people on social welfare.

I'm shining a light on punters who are aboard ships 2000kms from this jurisdiction and are supposedly claiming job seekers allowance.

I support that tax take and I am entitled to question who gets it and how it's administrated.

I have no intention of just 'letting the social welfare handle it' as you say.

That's why this country is in the state it's in.

Nice bias there, well constructed... Equality? No? Thought so ;)

So what if they were weilding weapons? So if they provoked the attack? What if they were actually terrorists and were waiting for this to happen, they wanted it, and took this opportunity to create a bad PR for the Israeli government? I mean, a soldier will do his job no matter what, in most cases. The Sgt that shot those six people, done his job. He didn't stop to think "hmm, i'm in international waters, better just take the beating and let them possibly kill me"...

They had pistols for back up, they didn't go in guns blazing, nor did the initial group have primary lethal weapons, but lets not take on facts, lets make them up, in fact I could have sworn I spotted a soldier with a flame thrower on there too, another had a chainsaw...
