That wouldn't come close to covering even the Ronaldo transfer fee.

Where did the rest of the 80 million go?

What about the rest of the company's revenue?

Suggesting that the purchase of Berbatov and extending a few contracts accounts for all that money disappearing is lolbad.

    You're just repeating irrelevancies tbh.

The entirity of the Ronaldo fee is on the books.

Pro F gave you a link and even gave you the page in the document, I'll even do one better for you:

And there i was thinking it was only Liverpool's finances you struggle with.

United sold Ronaldo for 80m last year. It doesn't matter when it was paid, or in how many installments.

Had that deal not gone ahead, United's profits would have been 80m less. In other words, they would have made substantial losses.

Now this season they haven't sold a Ronaldo. They haven't won the league. They haven't won the champions league. Have their interest payments been substantially reduced? I would imagine a loss will be shown in the accounts this year.

That is a meaningless figure, taken on its own.

Of course it matters when the money is recieved, If they are still owed £60 million, is that not relevant?

Lets wait and see what happens this year, I think the figures will be better than some expect, the debt should be down for a start.

Either way it's not about this year or next its about the future and the informed opinion is that everything will work out ok for the Club which is all I've ever been concerend about.
That is a meaningless figure, taken on its own.

Yes our cash reserve is meaninless to financial discussion, so meaninless that it has been dismissed by some contributers here.

It doesn't matter. What about money you owe the revenue for VAT, PAYE and Corporation Tax, do you take that into account? Of course not.
United's wage bill for last year (in the published accounts) will have included a very substantial charge for PAYE/PRSI. Not all of this will have been paid at the year-end, in all likelyhood. Does that fact have any effect on the profitability of the club? No.

Profit and Loss accounts are only concerned with expenses and incomes that are incurred in a period.

When they are paid is a matter for cash flow. It's extremely unlikely that Cashflow will be United's downfall. But trading losses might be.

Not according to our books. The 80 million is accounted for.

I posted a screen capture and put a big red circle around it and a little box saying "Hi Muppet, can you see me!?"

It's meaningless taken on it's own, as you presented it - that is, on one particular day, completely isolated from all the clubs other assets and liabilities.

For all you know there could have been bills to the tax man, other clubs, players etc due the next day. Quoting a bank balance in isolation is worthless.

It is, however, precisely the type of information that smart business people would try to hoodwink gullible people with...

    Just saying...

The doomsday scenario is not going to happen, and more and more fans are going to realise that over the next year.

I have always said that the only way the Glazers can make money from United is to be successful on the pitch, there is noting to worry about. People are comining around to realising the debt is not the problem it was percieved to be even in teh worst recession since the war..

Who is coming around? You, clearly, but i don't see many backing you up.

I don't think United are going to fold, but your head is completely buried.

I don't need anyone to back me up, I suggest you do a little research and bring yourself up to date on the current financial situation before rubbishing what i am saying. I have posted the links to help above.

Al I understand your desire to put United in the same **** as your own team but the fact of the matter is there is virtually no similarties between the two clubs finances. Uniteds revenue is growing year on year for a start.

so is Liverpools. i understand your desire to ignore my point in regards to you ignoring peoples posts who're showing how ridiculous wat you's saying is. instead you wanna turn it into a united/liverpool willy waving competition, pat yourself on the back.

Your continued attemps to link the situations between ths clubs is relevant AL. I ignore some posts because they have nothing to add or are covering old ground, al, there is no need to reply to every single post .

I'd be happy to debate your statement on Liverpools revenue growth in the relevant thread if you really believe what you have posted above .

the post i made here today which you responded to, link where i mentioned Liverpool, or anything to do with them? seriously, wat are you talking about? You brought them up in an attempt to distract from the ****e you're speaking.

I understand your desire not to be drawn on the comparisons you are trying to make AL, I also think your club loyalties is relevant given the topic of discussion here AL. Let's leave it there.

Thing is Al, as long as United keep winning or doing well on the pitch muppet will be happy to keep his head firmly planted. Much like so many leeds fans years ago.

You really don't have a clue if you think there is any comparison between uniteds situation and leeds.

Thats very disengenious and dismissive of you AL, some of the guys in that discussion are highly qualified. To just dismiss them in that manner says more about you than them. Then you wonder I don't engage in discussion sometimes.

if he's comparing the fact some sections of both fanbases had/have their head in the sand. its fair enough.

No no no no. I compared the leeds fans attitude toward their debt to your attitude toward ours. And again if you're going to pick and choose which posts of mine to reply to, either reply to all or none. Your ignorance about this topic is annoying.

I'll reply to what I want to not what you want me to.

Ignorance about the topic, don't make me laugh I'm not the one making a fool of myself by making stupid comparisons to Leeds situation which bears no similarities to Uniteds.

The comparison was a sound one. You ignoring the reasoning behind it, which was explained to you twice, is another example of you making a fool of yourself in this thread.
