It would be better if it was a 50/50 setup, 50% of matadors being killed by the bulls, like putting razors on the bulls horn or a protective jacket, or a load of bulls going at them at once.. Otherwise it is nonsense, it would be like seeing a heavyweight boxer take on a featherweight. TBH the only ones I like to see is where the matadors are gored, fair f*cks to the bull.

    Right in the groin!

I think that's what makes the debate contentious: the matadors and aficionados have great respect for the bulls. Great bulls are remembered the way great matadors are. But it's still a pretty one-sided affair, and it's hard to dress up what is basically ritualized slaughter.

True. But whether the animal is killed in a slaughterhouse or in the bullring, the result is the same. It’s all a matter of semantics.

I would be against it, they stick swords in the bull throughout the fight, so it slowly dies. Very cruel. I would go see it given the chance though. Just something I'd want to experience in person, see why it's so popular

If the same thing happened in slaughterhouses, there'd be a high turnover of slaughterers & they'd have to be paid a serious amount of danger money.

Oh absolutely, as I was trying to say in my main point my main beef (lulz) with bullfighting is that I struggle to understand how the spectacle is sold as entertainment in 2010. Horrible things happen in a slaughterhouse but people wouldn't pay to see them. I've seen bullfighting videos and the matadors are very brave in the risks that they take.

However the lasting impression I always get is that of a defenseless, already wounded bull tricked into running into a flag and humiliated until it's dazed, mortally wounded body slumps to the ground after far too long, as a stadium of people erupts in applause. Not for me

    I'd fight a bull...bare knuckle I'd fancy my chances.

Fair enough! I've no beef with that. ;)

If you want to fight a bull, I say go for it, go nuts. But don't cut a section off the bulls horns so it can't judge distance, don't dull the tips and wrap them in cloth, and either leave the sword at home or arm the bull aswell. I'm all for a fair fight. Infact I'd probably pay good money to see a genuine, unrigged fight, between a bull and a pathetic cuunt.

I went twelve rounds with a bull before. Won on points

The majority of people in AH voted Pro Choice in the Abortion Poll but (so far) are against Bullfighting

I have mixed feelings about animal sports in general. Steeplechase racing is quite dangerous for the horses, who have to be immediately put down if they have a bad fall. Many racing hounds end up abused and neglected if they don't win. It is almost inevitable that a bull will die in the ring, but they are honored from start to finish (indeed, if they are left to suffer too much, it reflects poorly on the matador), and their meat is actually put to use. Dogfighting and cockfighting (both of which I find unbelievably distasteful) seems much more brutal to me, even though it's an "even" contest; the main purpose is gambling.

I think you will find that being pro-choice on the abortion issue doesn't coallate with pro-abortion. There is a world of a difference.

The bull run in Pamplona is f*cking class - it's some fiesta, I tell ya! Some dopey american tourist always seems to get mauled / killed by a bull, but some would consider that a bonus. ;)

Wouldn't be my thing. I don't like the suffering.

Oh, and because it was annoying me, the OP is correct to use "yea".

It's not that I like animals. I'm a vegetarian because I hate plants.

Nay. And I cannot understand people who would want to go and see such a barbaric spectacle. Makes me sick.

I definately wouldn't be campaigning to stop it anyway. Worse things happening in the world.

Before this post, according to the post count under the usernames, I had exactly 200 posts more than you. How very odd.
