    And the facebook page.. http://www.facebook.com/pages/Everybody-Draw-Mohammed-Day/121369914543425
ISLAMABAD, PAKISTAN -- An Internet clampdown in Pakistan widened Thursday as the government blocked access to the YouTube Web site, citing its "growing sacrilegious content."

The move came one day after the civilian government ordered Internet service providers to restrict access to the Facebook social networking site, which drew fire in Pakistan over a page encouraging people to post caricatures Thursday of the Prophet Muhammad. That order followed an injunction by a Pakistani court, which agreed Wednesday with a petition by an Islamic lawyers' group that the page violated Islamic laws banning the prophet's image.

Classic.. Facebook group having such a massive impact :D Like 9,000 pics already.

I believe a similar page was already taken down.
If they close that one, they are going to annoy 90,000+ people again!
...and at the moment Facebook is not too popular LOL

People are dumping it like dead flies around Jackie Rea's breath!

Edit: I see that had to re-open it: http://www.digitaljournal.com/article/292257

"If Facebook and other such tools continue to be used for blasphemy by the Western nations, then we will target their embassies," said Faisal Javed, 21.

    Nutters.

Personally I think this is disgusting. As far as I can see this draw mohammad thing is simply to insult and offend those who are Muslim. Remember this is not just offending extremists, its offensive to your average Moslem too. Standing up for free speech? What a joke.

If anyone anywhere is offended by a facebook group drawing pictures, I want to hear their logic.

    Moslem?

Offensive hardly, these lads need to get out more, but i think its more mocking the fact that these lads will go mental and act so violently over something so small and to try and put fear into people.

No it's not good enough, the danish cartoon controversy was baked by a bunch of loons who dragged up old photos to stoke up anti western sentiment while having no problem living in a western country. How petty must your beliefs be if god who created every galaxy, black hole, super nova and ever life form gets upset over a cartoon.
I'm not in favour of mocking peoples beliefs for the sake of it but no ones imaginary friend takes precedent over freedom of speech.

Why should the whole world be governed by a rule which only applies to Muslims?

Well look at it this way: A huge group of people find this: upsetting, hurtful and disrespectful.

Now these people are deliberatly setting out to disrespect and upset these people. Just because its a drawing doesnt make it ok. If someone deliberately sets out to upset, hurt and disrespect someone that makes them a right dick In my opinion.
Remember that we also, sad, but true: hurt the feelings of the moderate muslims aswell.
Now thats hardly fair is it?

So we are drawing a picture just to piss off overly sensitive religious fanatics? Destined for failure. (I know not all believers in Mohammed are terrorists BTW)

I could flip throught the Koran and find bits about non believers disrespectful, but I'm not going to throw a wobbler over it.

A group of lads (and probably lassies) years ago drew something up too.
They knew when doing it, it would upset a lot of people (it did BIG time) but they still did anyway - and you know what, I'm glad they did!

I think what they drew up was called the 1916 proclamation - I could be wrong.

Thanks heavens speech/opinions is still hard to stifle in all its forms.

No they're not, it's an unfortunate by product that they're so pissy about it.

Cake, and grief counseling, will be available at the conclusion of the test

People get upset over a lot of different things. Should we cease doing anything that upsets people for fear of death?

Well I reckon that Muslims would feel this is on a par with flag burning. Now if there was a "burn the tricolor day because some Irish are IRA terrorists" how would you feel?

Then they shouldn't look at it then. Simple.

If you know you're going to be offended then it's probably a good idea to stay away from the page.

I have some bit of respect for the people who were offended by the Jyllands-Posten cartoon and wrote a strongly worded letter to the newspaper.

I have no respect for the people who were offended by the Jyllands-Posten cartoon and then went onto plot to murder of the man.

I have no respect for the people who were offended by the Jyllands-Posten cartoon and stormed various European embassys assaulting staff and trying to burn down buildings.

It will be a sad day when the world will have to tiptoe around these loonies.

Sadden that some Irish scum is causing my nations emblem to be tainted by their disgusting actions.
O'... and bloody anger directed towards the Irish murders.

I'd be pissed off and offended.

What I wouldn't do is riot and threaten to kill anyone associated with it. That's the difference.

Why are these people protesting in Pakistan? They should be at work darnit! Seriously, something has to be wrong with you to drop your work and go out protesting over something so insignificant.

One thread saying Muslims shouldn't build a mosque because it's offensive to New Yorkers and another celebrating the drawing of pictures which cause offence to Muslims.
