The Palace or Coppers according to some of the shenanigans in this thread...

We could have a competition for who will do the worst thing in there! :D

June sometime would be good. As minidazzler said, not too far away. I think the organisation for the last beers was dragged on waaaaay too long. Maybe The Master would put up a poll for dates that suit people and we can pick a venue afterwards? :)

Not a bad idea, at least we can have a date sorted then

    Poll to be added shortly

Poll added, choose you dates folks and we can choose a location once we get an idea of the best date for everyone

EDIT - feel free to keep suggesting locations though ,it'll make thing easier later on and as said above let's not drag this out for too long

Yeah the last one was dragged for ages! Maybe early in June would be best! I'm easy for all the dates TBH (except oxegen weekend, the last weekend on the list).

    None of the above :(

    None of the above :(

Do you have another date suggestion?

    None of the above :(

Any earlier and it'll be hard pressed to get something organised... Any later and it'll appear to drag on again.

I'm game for any Saturday / location really...

Except the 11th / 12th June... Will be rocking out in England

Have heard tell of these bordsie Beers, would newcomers, particlarly older newcomers:o be welcome, or would these events really be more for the more experienced boarder?

  • Moderators, Category Moderators, Music Moderators Posts: 14,324 CMod ✭✭✭✭The Master

Everyone is of course more than welcome :)

The age range at the beers goes from 18 up to anything there's always a good mix of people

Just a head's up .. the World Cup kicks off on the 11th of June.

The big games will be starting at 8pm each night and so places with big screens will be jammers with screaming football hooligans .. like meself ;)

So, might be worth thinking about places that don't have big screens for those that hate footie?

Course it might also be an idea to have the Beers on the night of the first France game (coincidently, also the 11th if June :D).

Everyone could wear one of these ... :p

+1 on Athlone. Halfway between Dublin and Galway. Halfway between Cork and Donegal. Halfway between Sligo and Dublin

You get the picture. I'll be up for it if that's the case

Can we not just accept that it can't be held outside Dublin as none of the dubs would know how to get there - unless it's in Santa Ponsa.

    *Cough*

    Bus?
    Train?

They go many places out of Dublin... and I'm sure many of us here can figure out how to look up a destination and Time Tables...

Athlone sounds like a stellar selection.

    However,

Avoid O Neill's bar, some nordie bottled a lad in the face there on Saturday night and then her boymates proceeded to kick him in the head when he was on the ground.. apparently there was lots of blood and face left.

Coppers, thats fun too - just dont look anyone in the eye.

Aviod the main street after midnight, thats when the mixture of drugs, drink and fresh air kick in and everyone becomes super human.

If you consider Athlone as a location i will attend.. i see no reason not to come here.

Athlone is now a terrible selection

Defo agree having it somewhere that's not showing any world cup matches.

Why aren't the poll results public?

Can you not see the results, the poll is public?

I think he wants to see who voted for what date.

Oh right, I deliberately didn't do that so no one could start accusing others of trying to fix the date to suit them and their mates

10th of July please. We can filter out the knackers that way.... (Oxegen weekend) :pac:

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,291 ✭✭✭✭Standard Toaster

I'm easy enough on the dates tbh
Maybe The Brazen Head, would be nice if we get the weather for it.

Or one of the The Porterhouse's maybe?
    Or maybe Dakota??

Folks I'm gonna close this poll later today so we can get onto deciding a location, I hope we can get this sorted by the end of the week. We don't want this to drag on forever
