Damn you, you tricky bastard Electronic circuits! I should be up in Belfast now enjoying a pre-gig drink before going to see Metallica, but instead I had to sit through that test. Ah well, one good question, one fair one and the last, a disaster. Hopefully i'll pass.:o

English and Geo...anyone else in the same classes??

I'm doing First Year English. The exam was really nice in my opinion since we were given the questions beforehand by most of our lecturers.

Ugh History Papers 1 and 2 are on Friday and I'm not looking forward to the Irish section of it. :(

Oooh, I might know you so!! (Hope that doesn't come across too stalker-ish :pac:)

Ya I was really happy with English....I got a fright when I read the Film Q that was on paper 2 ....then he corrected it and I was like PHEW!

Not too worried about them to be honest. Going to revise for them tomorrow and Thursday but other than that it should be ok.

Perhaps you do! Although, the English class is so big it's unlikely. :) I was the exact same. I started drafting a plan for a really crappy essay about gender issues and family in The Lodger, I'm sure when they're correcting it they'll see it in the Rough Work essay and laugh. I'm glad I just watched that scene that morning - there was no pointers like Barry Monaghan said there would be. :( Ah well, it was a fair exam anyway!

Ya it's pretty big...but towards the end of the year you start recognising faces more and more often....

I was planning on doing the critical analysis of the scene in Citizen Kane anyway and leaving a little note saying "We were told to do this....so there!" :pac:

Ya really open too which was the good thing...thank God "Trouthe" came up too

Gotcha. You had us worried for a second. Don't mention the big C around here or Nova_era'll get the shotgun. ;)

Lawl. :P I was actually taking to a friend of mine last week who goes there, and she was shocked to hear that we could study in UCC A) at nighttime, and B) at weekends. They got kicked out at 5pm some day last week. :/

By the way, preparations for my big exam today are going really well; I went out last night, and I'm just out of bed. I've 2 hours! :P

Since I've heard about this 30% thing, I've been taking live easy. I've already got 21% in this module, so I just need to pick up a cool 19% today. :D

Are you correct about that compensation thing? I haven't a clue how it works tbh. I've seen posts about it but it looks like it only applies to Joint Honours students?

I'm a joint honors student; I looked at the specific European Studies requirements, and it all seems pretty plain and simple there. It is almost too good to be true, as I would have assumed that no matter what your overall marks are, you still have to pass your end of year exam.

However, if this system is to be believed, then once you achieve a certain percentage for the module as a whole, even if that means failing the end of year, then you're ok. :/

In that case, I need 1.6% in my 3 hour German paper.

I had Information System Security in Neptune today this ensued:

    epic_fail.jpg

Horible exam - normally it's the same stuff each year - alot changed and I didn't cover enough topics so I feel physically ill over it :(

Today, I have mostly been examined on PY3106 (Nuclear and Particle Physics). It was ok, but didn't go as well as I was hoping. It's generally regarded as the easiest 3rd year Physics module but I think the general consensus was the exam was tougher than expected.
On the bright side, I definitely passed.
On the downside, I calculated that a 1gram sample of Vanadium emits more electrons per second than the total number of electrons in the universe. Somehow, I think I may have calculated it wrong.

Tomorrow is my first maths exam: Differential Geometry (MA3053) Imminent failure of epic proportions awaits me. :(

I have differential geometry tomorrow followed by topology on Monday and fluid mechanics on Tuesday. I'm currently screwed for all those exams :(

I had business modelling, systems analysis design and change today..I was absolutely dreading it! Went out for a smoke beforehand with one of my friends, met the lecturer and he told us what was coming up :D Granted it was 15 mins before the exam so it wouldn't have made a huge difference but I was so calm going into the exam knowing that the stuff I'd studied was coming up!

Intro to Object Orientated programming now on Friday which is essentially 3 hours of writing java code! It'll be a toughie!

On the plus side, I'm now half way through the exams and happy enough with how they've gone so far. :)

Had Comparative European Politics today, my most dreaded exam. I wrote a thesis on the first question, and then wrote 2 pages on something I've no idea about whatsoever for the second. "Does the growth of environmental parties in Europe represent the evolution of a new socio economic clevage?". I spent 2 pages complaining about how National Government is no place for green policies. Great idea. Oh well, it's over!

Today: GR2026 - Byzantium and the Rise of Islam. Was always going to be hard because the module was poorly done. Atrocius set up despite the brilliant content. Didn't know what could come up (exam papers were dreadful in the past) but coped well with the first question. About the strategy the Arab-Muslim state used from 600-750. Ran through it and enjoyed it. Second one wasn't good at all; some good content but mostly bullsh*t. The first question and the continuous assessment should help.

Soviet and Russian History tomorrow. Should be good. :)

Today was ED3008. Hope I did enough to pass as everything we did during the year and todays exam is marked completely seperately, so theres no over all pass and I was a bit iffy on one or two of the theories....Ahh well, I can retire from this thread now and I am officially finished my final year exams, yay!

    Had Differential Geometry (MA3053) today:

    fdu9tk.jpg

There were 5 questions, I was only able to do one of them fully. Ugh, I need to pass all my other maths exams now if I want to compensate for this one. :(
