in work each summer there's a 5 aside tourney...

first time I entered we got to the quartar finals... second time... semi finals... 3rd time the finals...

this year... we should win it this time... going by that progression...

although I can also add... in each tourney I've played in, I had my nose busted open... T'is rough trying to be a goalie..

So what is your finest sporting hour since birth, regardless of what age it happened at.

For me then I guess the pinnacle of my sporting career was the U-15 GAA at school when we won and I was a underused substitute :o

I have since sailed across the Atlantic and I can snowboard even the steepest of slopes but I'm guessing that U-15 GAA final is as near as I'm ever going to get to sporting greatness :D

Ha ha, that a nice coincidence, my greatest sporting achievements are probably in Table Tennis, multiple time individual winner, league winner and shield winner in the Leinster league.

Honourable mention to my GAA school final in school where I scored 3 goals and a point. I like this as it was against our rivals.

You do know that Table Tennis is one of the most played sports in the world?;)

I won a shooting competition about 7 years ago, there was about 60 odd people at it, the year before I came second out of 156. Shooting an area the size of a 20 pack of smokes from 300 yards away ;) No scope

Played in croke park when I was about 12 in a school boys all Ireland hurling final.

That's it. Brother has a room full of trophies, played for shamrock rovers U16 U17, player of the year a few times, plus lost of other trophies I am unsure of.

Won the 'heaviest shite handicap' competition at the local Feis.

I was handicapped at -860 grammes and dropped a 1.960kg knot breaker to easily beat Joan O'Brien who only managed a 1.105Kg even with the water allowance discarded.

Bint took it very badly and muttered something about "training on low grade mince" for the next competition.

Apparently she dropped a 2.007kg log in practice, but I don't believe that.

Beating 10 year olds by making up rules as you go along doesn't count.

Sinking a 10ft putt for eagle on the 8th in Oughterard after hitting a peach of a 4 iron blind over trees. I only play once or twice a year.

    Soccer based.

Underage (15s I think) I got Limerick player of the year for A division.
I have 3 FAI Junior cup medals. (Largest amateur soccer competition in Europe FYI). :D Had the 3 of them by the age of 21 in fact.

Have bucket loads of underage league and cup winners medals.

The one game that I'm most proud of was getting selected for the Irish Universities team after I played for UL in the Collingwood cup in 2006. We played the Irish IT's and won 1-0, yours truly scoring the winner. Header from a corner ala true centre back fashion. It was the most enjoyable game I played. The standard was incredibly high, and to feel at home their was a joy to be honest. Was gutted the Junior International manager couldn't attend as he was supposed, but sure as ever, I got over it. :) I also got UL Player of the year that same season. Good times back then. Pity about the Masters course I despised.

Edit: Might as well throw it in there but I was called up by Brian Kerr for Irish U-16 team for a few training sessions. Injury got the better of me that year mind, and subsequently stopped me from going over having trials with 2 clubs across the water days before hand with flights and everything booked. The worst part was a mate of mine also missed out as both clubs wanted 2 people to travel on both occasions, so he also lost out.

    ACTUALLY........

The rules are very stringent and intcricate in Yu-Gi-Oh. As a former player and judge i can assure that there is no "making up the rules as you go along", and there are certainly less ten year olds playing than your post would insinuate.

3 Nationals and 2 European championships is an amazing achievement.

    Congratulations PJTierney
