Why can't we make it socially acceptable to wear creased clothes. Can't bear this ironing lark. If we all stopped ironing our clothes within a year or so we would all forget about how ironed clothes looked. Think of all hours it would give us back..

I very very rarely have to iron anything. Fabric softener or the tumble dryer ftw!

I have not ironed my clothes in about ever. They are never ironed and never will be. I get my shirts done in the dry cleaners when they need cleaning, which is rare as I don't wear them. Such a waste of time.

My solution to this is to not iron at all

. Tryed ironing once and it was a disaster, as i always wear tracksuit/t shirt type clothes they dont show creases up when you put it on

I hate ironing

i just fold the clothes and put them away and iron as i need them.

poeple who iron all their clothes at the one time are wasting hours that they cant get back.

How can some people not iron? I mean, most clothes crease, right? I feel like I'm ALWAYS ironing..... but I 'iron as I go' none of this 4 hours on a Saturday afternoon malarkey (one of the aul wans in work does that) - FUP that!

I see it was a waste of peoples energy and electrical energy, it would not be too hard to make it look unacceptable. I could even imagine irons being banned, they banned those patio heaters for being so wasteful of energy.

A mate of mine even irons his socks & boxers.

Use a fabric softener, take the clothes straight out of the machine as soon as it's finished and hang them properly(or put them in the dryer,and again take them out soon as it's finished), and you'd be amazed how much doesn't need to be ironed

Wht clothes are you wearing. I try to wear cotton as much as possible. Out of the machine soon as it finishes, onto a hangar, and as it dries, it keeps its natural shape. No Ironing needed.

Every morning it's the same--- I take clothes out of the press/wardrobe, look at my watch and say nah I'll get away with not ironing this! Even though its got more creases than Deirdre Barlows neck....

My clothes are on a strictly "need to iron" basis only :cool:

Are you saying you take you clothes out of your washing machine and put them on hangers?

Exactly, there's no need to iron your clothes if you just hang them up, inside or outside after they're washed and then fold them straight away when you bring them in off the line/take them off the clothes dryer.

Some people iron sheets and underwear and the whole lot, what's the point?

I'm a bit too good at ironing creases into clothes anyways.

i love ironing its so relaxing!

i could iron all day long, i even iron my knickers and socks, theres nothing better than putting on freshly ironed clothes! especially pyjamas they have to be ironed!!

iron-y type stuff for work e.g. suits, blouses etc. can't get away with a creased suit unfortunately....
Jeans come off my clothes horse very creased as do tee's.... I'm definitely going to start using fabric softner though.:cool:

Yeah, clothes do crease, so whats the big deal -i.e. why bother ironing, I just accept it, why try and deny it happens. I can understand people doing it for particular jobs where the employer might demand it, sort of like people having to be clean shaven. I only bother 2 shave about twice a week. I think its mad that so many women waste so much time shaving their legs & underarms -there is no way a employer would ask them to, unless they were models or something. Whenever people in my work comment about my having a few days stubble on my face I always rip them apart for being sexist as they never say anything about the hairy women in the place.

And I thought I was the only one. I love ironing, find it very therapeutic. I love the smell of freshly ironed clothes, I love seeing the pile of immaculately folded clothes ready to go back in the wardrobe.

My nanny would iron my boxers and my socks... that I never understood.
