Shoot yourself in your foot Quinn!!

There are at this minute over 200 trucks gathered in Toughers Business park ready to bring hell to the M7, N7 & Dublin today from 8am.

As of this evening my health insurance, motor insurance & home insurance will be transferred into a comapny that does not hold me and my work at ransom for the mistakes, skuldurgery & gambling of the main quinn shareholders.

91011, do you want this moved to Ranting & Raving?

I'll get one of the guys to move it over if you'd like.

before this is moved to R&R i'll take this opportunity to go against the rant lol

They are only driving up and back to dublinFFS. Its not like the O'Connell strteet taxi protests. I (while not a Quinn employee) would support their actions. However I dont see them having any effect at all.

    +1

and I recommend others to do the same.

Sean Quinn needs to face up to his losses and stop trying to impose himself and his pawns on this State

    first he used his employees

    now he uses his creditors

Sean Quinn plays us for fools

the balance sheets show Sean to be the fool

This an absolute disgrace. Why are the trucks being allowed do this?

Did anyone hear the spokesman on Newstalk?

"I'm not a technical man, I don't know accounting or regulashun, but I'm a customer of Quinn and this is for jobs, real jobs"

and what if Quinn can't pay their creditors?

"I don't know anything about creditors"

so you want to cause maximum chaos on Dublin's streets

"Yes. But we've agreed to move it 30 minutes out of the main commute times... and this is nothing to do with Dublin commuters. I don't know much about..."

    anything it would seem.

Also, Garda escort? rantie rantie rant

Heard one of these idiots on the Hook show yesterday and basically came across as a complete muppet. Even George was calling him deluded. (what beans said above) :)

Apparently listening to the radio there's 180 trucks there at present with another 30 mins to go before they move off.
Honestly if I lived in Dublin and have to put with this crowd I'd be boycotting their goods etc.

Absolute ****ing idiots. Why don't they go and protest outside Sean Quinn's mansion? It was his reckless pissing away of three billion euro that has them in this state. But that's too obvious for these thick gombeens, "ah shure, he's a great man, didn't he buy me a pint once!"

The truckers don't work for Quinn, they are customers of Quinn...so they didn't shoot anyone anywhere

A 200 truck convoy is going to have no effect?

Alot of these truckers would owe the Quinn Group money and feel that they are obliged to take part in this.

I assume the Gardai will issue fines and/or arrest to those truckers flouting the HGV ban in Dublin city centre between 7am and 7pm.

Nope, far from the gardai issuing fines, they will be giving them an escort!!!! Ridiculous

Im sure they have got permits to enter the city centre.

I'd be surprised if 300 trucks all have permits to be honest. The bloke on the radio last night was a customer of Quinns who was taking part in the protest and he was a customer of the concrete/cement side of the business. Now i could be wrong but would they have permits for driving through the city centre?

Hopefully thats just luring them into a false sence of security ...

With the truck protest, and a crash at Kill, traffic is going to be manic today.

Heard a load of sirens outside a few mins ago, that explains it.

Most of the truckers involved with Quinn have their livelyhoods damaged by the causes of the building slump ie the concrete business, insulation radiators etc. And here they were on frontline crying about the expence of fuel. Who's going to pay for your little trip driving around Dublin for the day?

Fair play to them, if more people had their attitude the government wouldn't get away with half the sh1t they do.

Yeah but it isnt going to do any good, all it is doing is disrupting ordinary people who want to get to work.

So we bailed out the banks for making ****e business decisions, a travesty in my opinion.

What we are talking about here is some ****e of a chief exec sanctioning a very risky business model (pardon the pun) by telling the shareholders the return is worth the risk. Then when it goes wrong people want them bailing out!

    1. Were the people involved in making the decision to go after the high risk market dismissed or rewarded with bonuses?
    2. Would Quinn shareholders have handed over a wad of cash to the public if their risky business model succeeded?

If they were Q1.dismissed & they Q2. submit proof that they were going to hand over a wad of cash to the Irish public then I wholeheartedly support them.

Else they can go **** themselves. This is capitalism.

Not only are the Gardai not going to apply the law on HGVs in the City Centre but they're also supplying our dear protestors with an escort as they rail against the establishment so bent on killing the Quinn Group for a small matter like regulation.

And yet some wonder why this country is gone wrong.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,273 ✭✭✭racso1975

It really piss's me off that people can get away with sh!te like this! How is this going to have any affect on the goverment or the regulator. As usual the small guy, employee's being late and small companies will suffer with loss of wages and money! Bunch of f%(kin waster's!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 53 ✭✭Pistolpete1

Oh its a discrace to have these guy protesting in Dublin, Why not protest outside Quinns estate???? with their 200 lorrys. I think employees of quinns will do what ever he asks of them. I cant understand it but do these people protesting in dublin not understand that its actually quinns fault not the goernment for once!!!, Years ago the regulator didnt do his job, and left us in this crisis, now he is do too good a job and people complain also, if a big company likie quinns cant "show me the money" as the regulator put it then into admin you go and its not the governments fault. its quinns
