Do you think guys drinking cider is a bit...eh...not straight?

I always though cider was a 15 year old's drink rather than gay or anything.

That said, beer snobbery on this thread = fail. Plenty of people prefer Bud and Heineken to Duvel or simply prefer that the former two are more widely available.

Me I'm going through a mad Smithwicks phase, fukken delish.

Bud is FILTH absolute chemical redneck piss! Stick to the German beers..they have their ominous sounding "purity laws" that keep brewing limited to using combinations of 4 ingredients.

Nothing wrong with bulmers. Can't stand the macho bull **** over here that dictates you cannot drink certain beers / drinks.

Hate the taste of bud lite , Coors is tolerable but abit bland for me.

In saying that I would raise an eye brow to a man seen drinking a west coast cooler or wkd.

Also, Duvel is the real king of beers. But I can't drink it anymore as it makes me absolutely psycho groupie cocaine crazy.

That's unfair. More people than the stereotype above drink mass-produced beers such as Bud, Heineken, Miller etc.

Yawn...this is such a silly topic, who cares really. For me Bud is by far the best tasteing beer that exists and I'm sick of idiots saying that it doesn't have a very "beery" taste, i've tried many European beers and still prefer Bud. Nothing wrong with Cider either, it tastes a lot better then Guinness!

cider... its more the amazing power of advertising that i find funny ...by sponsoring a rugby league....they have made a drink that was usually associated with teenagers getting drunk in a field and or winos.....in to something considered cool..i was in the UK about 3 years ago and a certin Irish cider was considered the coolest thing going!

To be honest, go drink a couple of flagons of Electric White or Linden Village and then tell me that you still think drinking cider is a bit odd.
Depends on the cider really though, but I don't see a problem with drinking cider.
Pint bottles of cider, pint glasses with loads of ice on a hot summers day, don't think anything hits the spot better if it's hot.

I've had Bulmer's, and I've had real Scrumpy cider in England. No comparison. If I can see through it, I don't call it cider.

I like Perry too, but I haven't tried the Bulmer's "pear cider" (ugh) yet. If it relates to real Perry as Bulmer's relates to real cider, I'm not expecting much.

I still have no idea how a drink can be "gay". Do you know what "teh gays" drink?

Cider does just taste of piss to me, haven't been able to drink it since I was 15, I nearly gag after a few sups of it nowadays.

The beer snobbery on this thread is ridiculous though, I drink heineken or corona on a night out because I can have a sh!t load of pints of it without my insides turning to superglue, or being full of gas after a single bottle.

But, as the old saying goes, Budweiser is like having sex in a canoe.

The remark on the "scummy"ness of cider was said in jest, seeing as it's a fairly light-hearted topic of discussion, and should be taken with a pinch of salt! And I wasn't referring to Bulmers specifically. As regards taste, I just don't like it at all myself!
