Do you think guys drinking cider is a bit...eh...not straight?

When I go to the pub which is very rare, i'll drink Cider, never had a full pint of beer but tasted a few variations and hated them all, just my personal opinion and taste.

I'd drink a Bud before I'd drink a Bulmers, but we're talking dire straits here. As in you're dying of the thirst and there's nothing left in the fridge.

I drank Bud when I was a kid, then someone introduced me to Heineken and I've never gone back. Can't beat a frosty pint of Heineken.

Wouldn't question any persons sexuality based on what they're drinking though. One of my mates drinks orange Bacardi Breezers when he's out. He gets an unmerciful slagging over it but it's what he likes and he certainly isn't gay. Each to their own I suppose.

On a sunny day I'll have a cider. How does having a taste for something make someone a homosexual? As stupid an argument as chicken making you gay and bald.

Budweiser tastes like someone drank some proper beer, maybe a nice pale ale or weiss beer and then pissed it out. I'll drink a cider, or a spirit before drinking that crap.

nah! i think guys can drink whatever they want, cosmos might be a little sex and the city-ish lol, but other than that whatever! I think cider is quite a manly drink anyway!

well discount bulmers as its not a real cider its just like a disgusting alcopop, never really drank and American cider so I cant comment but try something like this and then make up your mind

The big confusion with cider here is that everyone is just thinking of Bulmers. Bulmers isn't real cider! It's a nice refreshing drink when its a hot day but you would never spend a night drinking just Bulmers. It's far too sweet and sugary.

Druids is a real cider (and IMO the best tasting). I don't think anyone could call Druids gay either. Being 2%-odd stronger than beer doesn't sound like much but if you're drinking a lot it all adds up!

Being a student and on an increasingly tight budget I've made it my goal to try all the cheap (ie not Bulmers) ciders. Druids is pretty much the most expensive bar Devils Bit, which is also quite good. Crumpton Oaks is a surprisingly good cider even though it comes in a 2litre bottle and is the cheapest drink per litre in Tesco. Tesco value strong cider was ok... Before they jacked the price. At €3.50 for 3 litres it tasted fantastic. Now that its €6 I've noticed it's actually pretty flavourless :rolleyes:. ATM I'm drinking Blackthorn because I got 48 cans of it for €20 and it's not at all bad!

But back to the point... If you think Cider is a gay drink:
1) Try anything other than Bulmers
2) Try spending a night on Druids drinking at the same pace as all the beer lads... It's way more of a mans drink!

I've nothing against beer... It's great stuff but cider both tastes better and gets you more fucked

Ps. I'm a student so I get an exemption from the Pikey tag for drinking cider :pac:

Guinness isn't a beer though! You really can't compare it to beers... You'd drink a Guinness and a beer at two completely different times

That's what I have found from the pint bottles. The cans are much better.

I have been drinking cider for the better part of 20 years. I used to be able to tell you where in the barrell a pint was pulled from.

I drink bud meself usually i used to drink pints of carslberg but stopped cause i was finding the pints to always be bad.

Was drinking budvar for good bit as well as bud but not cheap in pubs.
Id drink tyskie if wasnt takin most of me tenner each time and my brain for that matter

The hangover off cider is horrible!! I always drink pints of bud on a night out these days. Moved straight onto it after my days of drinking cans of Bavaria in a field . So as you can probably tell I havent tasted proper beer yet. I'll make sure the next time i am out, it will be pints of Heineken!

Honestly i've never facepalmed so many times in one thread in my life. Budweiser is not proper beer, it is piss that 18 year olds drink when they start out trying lager. And just for the record i'm not a fan of cider either.

If you want a real drink try anything belgian like Duvel or Chimay!!
