Maybe they will like they did with neuroscience. I had no idea Genetics would be so popular! How are you getting on with studying?

Have they upped the numbers for neuroscience again? Or is it still 25?

I think it was 20 at the start of this year and then a few weeks ago they told us they were increasing it to 22 :)
I can't believe we've to wait a whole month to find out what subject we get!

It is seriously getting scary now! Genetics is way too popular, and time is running out! why did we have such a hideous timetable throughout the year, and we did not even get 1 biology tutorial! I propose blowing up luce hall, that should give us a bit more time :p anybody with me on that?

I have the 1st aromatic one and the NMR one, don't think there was one for the second aromatic one but I'm open to correction.

It's the NMR one with 8 questions on it where you have to draw the spectrums... He did one or two from it in the tutorial on Monday! Do you have the answer sheet to it? Cheers:)

Yeah I have it. The solutions don't have the actual spectrums but he explains what they should look like and where each of the signals go and all that. Pm me your email address and i'll forward it on to you.

okay..how about we start predictions... or what one must definitely know for each module..?

    e.g. BY2201...
    motor proteins,
    action potentials

For 201 I'm hoping for that competitive inhibition question and maybe a nice cell cycle or protein structure question :)

Beginning of June I think... & offers are beginning of July. Correct me if I'm wrong!

Results are the 11th of June and the offers are the 9th of July I think, it's all in the yellow book :)

Anyone think there's a chance that the development of the kidney could be an essay question? I don't think it's ever been asked before.

It seems that genetics is one of the most popular choices for rising JS this year - it's very oversubscribed. Neuroscience, Molecular Medicine, Biochemistry with Immunology, Physics, Physiology and Zoology are all also oversubscribed.

I thought it would be oversubscribed this year :( Any idea how many people have applied for it?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 22,819 ✭✭✭✭g'em

Yes, but I can't say unfortunately, you'll just have to take my word for it :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 255 ✭✭JC06

Thanks :) You've motivated me to study a little more anyway!

Icing on the cake for today. Thanks. Think I would have preferred blissful ignorance tbh.

Starting to wish I never read that either haha, I think I should just accept the fact that I probably won't get genetics.
