    not definate, but goin by past years, they generally take 2000 through to the AC and 9000 have applied

    That's interesting. I was looking at some staatistics (though they were from a good few years ago) and there seemed to be a 60% pass rate, so I thought that I was in the bottom 40% with my previous 2 results of 55 last year and 2 marks below what I was told a pass 3 years ago, perhaps I was beating myself up a bit over it.

    I know that I am a bit slow in the IST, trying to be accurate generally, but I wondered how much better people were doing it - for me it came down to time.

    I kept forgetting to guess the last few questions when the time is almost up.

    Yeah time is def the killer like.. many people have said on here that if you had an hour.. even 45 mins to do it, you could probably get near enough 100% in it...

    And yeah, I have discovered that guessing the ones you don't have time for really makes a difference... I guessed the last TEN questions and thus only answered 20 questions consciously... and I passed! :confused: it's just luck.. if you pick the right guesses! Lol

    years back, 2003/2004 the applicant numbers were maybe 4k or 5k so pass rate will change but they would still only have taken through 2k to AC i think :rolleyes: i failed by 1 mark last year too and i was completly gutted but hopefully this year is the year for us boardies!

    I doubt anyone finds the questions too difficult - just the time.

    I don't like the fact that the test, in my humble opinion is completely irrelevant to the job role - simply a way of slashing the numbers down.

    I think that there would be a lot of people who would make fantastic police officers that would struggle to get through the IST - perhaps even experienced full time reservists with a lot of experience that the PSNI could really do with having at the minute.

    I got a package today from the UK, only sent on Tuesday, so the whole postal thingy can't be the hold up.. This waiting really sucks now..

    they may not have cleared the back log of post and the regular post now is going ok, or the current post may be going by boat... who knows!

    i tried to call days ago but was told, they wont discuss it until you have a paper copy of it there infront of you

    Oh really thanks for that. Shame they wouldnt get a flippin paper copy out to us them lol! Suppose I will just have to stalk my poor postman again next week!

    Folks, you just never know...tomorrow is a Saturday so you may well get that letter tomorrow morning when you wake up from your weekend sleep in...(Wish I got to sleep in :()

    Jeez I have missed so much in 3 days! The boards have been buzzing!

    Can you not get your IST score if you've passed until after the AC? I thought previously you could email asking for a breakdown of your marks as soon as you got your letter and they forwarded it on to you? Well I emailed on Tues and nothing yet so seems we might have to wait!

    Nice one on the list beca, roll on the AC!

    Yea the system seems a bit mad this year, last year I barely had time to get home from the IST and the letter was there! :D Ok slight exaggeration, but it was about 8-10 working days if I remember correctly.

    Hey beca, just for your list - unistudent2009 is in May intake and jclegs has also already got the call for March but deferred I think so can prob both be taken off next time you update :)
