Good job on the list beca!

lol no bother! its the OCD in me! i think maybe instead of everybody copying and pasting, just post a pass or fail and we can keep track of it and update it every so often? other wise these pages are gonna get very long?!

Yes yes! I do like a good list, nice one! But I agree, everyone posting it over and over again will completely wash out this thread, probably would be best if you "the great list keeper" could keep us updated every now and then :D

Oh and cesc77, what brings you back to it again after so long if you don't mind me asking?

Deal, but you all owe me a beer in the bar in GV ok? finding more replies left right and centre, so just updating by editing that one single post.

we should start a campaign for all the boardies that are gonna be recruited to be put in 1 intake :pac: :pac: (impossible i know but one can dream)

for all you OCDers out there, the full unadultered names list is sitting at 59 and the passes are currently at 22/23. think this shows being on Boards is an advantage if the usual odds are 2/9 and we are gettin 2/6 if you get my drift?

I'm joining the pass list, thankfully. I was expecting the worst, so I'm over the moon.

This is my second time applying, missed it by 3 marks last year.

When I lifted the letter off the ground I could tell there were two sheets of paper inside (I can still remember the sting of feeling a one-sheeted envelope last year), so my heart started pounding. Then I read the first sentence saying I'd passed and immediately lifted the phone notifying trusted friends and family.

    AC is mid-June.

    Did the IST 18th March.

Best of luck to the people still waiting, and remember this volcano 'crisis' has thrown off communications on a global scale, so be patient with Deloitte for a few more days yet.

Great news mate, really pleased for you. Obviously when you speak with such clarity about the previous sting, I know it means something to you ;) Well done and best of luck

Thank you kindly. You're right, it means a lot to me. Shame about your result, however, take it from someone speaking from experience; next recruitment campaign will be here before you know it, it seems like a flash since last time. So get back on the horse and put yourself through the stress and strain again, because it will be worth it in the long run.

I just deleted nearly 50 off topic posts on this thread, and I'm not half done yet. Keep the chit-chat to the General Thread, or just make one of your own.

    Keep it on topic please.

Hi all first time on the site just got word yesterday i passed ist. How do you go about obtaining your mark, and does your mark have any bearing on your merit place or is it just a pass or fail test?

At this stage it is used as a pass or fail to get onto the AC stage. Marks for the IST may be used later to further narrow the numbers if needs be. You can get you scores after you do the AC when you get your AC marks.

    Congrats!

Does anybody know how many jobs are available for this particular recruitment drive? Last year I read that there was 440 jobs available but only two hundred and something places where offered.

Wow rentacop sorry mate, I was simply stating that in such a massive competition I was happy enough just getting through the first stage, it's a brutal competition and I've failed before, but I didn't come on here jumping on people for it. You have no right to judge my people skills, you don't know me or anything about me, just as I have no right to judge you, and seeing as your seemingly so easily set off, I'm not even goin to say anything more on the matter.

    Congrats/commiserations to all

And for the record wannabe I'm a she lol it's so awkward talking and not knowing what people are on here!

...and get this list up would ya beca!

You can sure stand up for yourself! ;) Done my Ist same day as yours 24th, hoping will have something in the post either way today. Will be disapointed if i fail because i got through last year to the a/c centre.

26 passes from an original list of 59?!

Can anyone tell me if they challenged their result last year - I got a fail letter saying I got 55 and required 56, yet others here are saying the passmark was 55?

    Very strange system this is.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 42 c1964

Hi Wanadrum, the pass mark last year was 56 and the previous year 51. It varies each contest.

    FAIL. 48. boo.
my bf waiting on his results, hope he gets in instead.
Sure regret not filling in the last 25% of th paper now, which means I only answered 55 questions.
Wow this feels rude, but I knew it would.

Hi there - no need to be sorry just now - I got a letter yesterday with a pass and date for AC in mid June.

My question was in reference to last year as I was failed with 55 needing 56 but some people said the pass mark was 55 - was just curious.

The system is crazy - I am from NI - I actually grew up right beside Police Headquarters and from an early age I have wanted to be a police officer, specifically a dog handler (but thats probably harder to get in to than Garnerville). Find the whole situation very demoralising as I really do want to join but the shear number of applicants along with the fact that I'm not in any of the groups specifically targeted make it difficult.

All the best for your application, I was very happy to pass IST this time, but I'm trying not to get too excited since there is still a very long way to go and the statistics would say my chances are low.

I was just shocked that the pass mark appears to have been fluid - and when you miss it by 1 mark and other people pass with the same score it is not nice - I mean the process is nasty enough with out having double standards over the pass mark.

I'm pleased now to have finally passed it.

Where does the statistic of 2000 of 9000 passing come from - is that definite?
