I was playing some game or other years ago with a few friends, I had to come up with a place beginning with 'T'. I said 'Transylvania', they all roared laughing at me saying it was a fictional place from Dracula films. I was shocked, thinking could I've been so stupid? Since then I've discovered that yes there is such a place:). I think i've too much time on my hands, that was nearly 20yrs ago:(.

And even if you did pay fees, you wouldn't be entitled to a refund. Like you said, it wasn't the area in which you're teacher was qualified.

Gardai who lie to youngster saying he will be going to jail for his first criminal conviction in order to get him to rat someone out then arresting picking on same individual by arresting him anytime he gets drunk and then absolving themselves of all sin by claiming the 'mental health act' when they know damn well they lied and destroyed this chaps life for a conviction that would have warranted a fine.

surely theyd have killed themselves already

Not everyone learns how old the earth is at school.

I didn't. I know it from reading over the years. Not from school.

One might learn it in science but not everyone does science. I didn't, for Leaving Cert. anyway.

I guarantee you that if you asked 10 friends tomorrow how old they think the earth is, at least half of them would be way out.

We'd been discussing "natural" disasters in religion class when our teacher attempted to claim during class that earthquakes were actually caused by humans drilling into the Earth.

Not one of my firends, family or anyone I know would be that far out, except maybe a child. 4000 years old, don't the creationists even think Earth is older than that?

Well everyone I went to school with learned it in 3rd class!. Page one of geography. That, plus when you learned that Newgrange is 5000 years old in history, and that the dinosaurs were around 64 million years ago, and that the universe is 15 billion years old, you could make an "educated":rolleyes: guess that the Earth is more than 4000 years old. That teacher is beyond excusing.
