I remember when i was 14, i was in a class, it wasnt a geography class but somehow the discussion found its was to the age of the earth, i made the statment that the world was over 4 billion years old and the teacher laughed at me and telling me at the same time it was 4 thousand years old not 4 billion.

Am i entitled to a refund on my education costs?

Have you ever comes across a statment that was made by someone that should know better?

Ehh, the earth is 4 thousand years old. Jesus and the Bible said so. You, my friend, are a heretic.

Well you said, "I once heard a priest say trust me", I thought you were shocked at the fact the a priest (given the nature of this thread) said "trust me" because of the news in the media at present about pedophile priest. Maybe I should rephrase my first comment and make it "Not all priest are untrustworthy".

I was in an argument with some who was convinced that Brian Cowen was the president. I had to give up after my brain started to hurt!

I never have a problem with people believing with God & all that mullarkey and never go near a religious discussion.......but when one person said that mentally handicap people were punishment for those of a bad past life I had to at least say something. It hit a nerve considering I know some handicapped people.

    yes...

Told this story to The Edge and Stephenlig the other night at the beers as well... will be going into slightly less detail here...

I work with CompanyX, they provide staff for CompanyY who does the IT support for CompanyZ...

CompanyZ is a bank... just support users within the bank, not their customers...

I'm in the complaints dept for CompanyY. A user from CompanyZ had raised a call about a problem with his laptop and was looking to put in a complaint over the call, while it was within the SLA. (SLA = Service Level Agreement / definition of turn around times, priority ratings and such...)

I told the user from CompanyZ that his complaint was not valid and any issue's he'd have to raise with his management internally...

As I mentioned, CompanyZ is a bank... User then went into a big spiel about the current economic situation and dropped buzzwords like "Reccession," "Bail outs"... while i was thinking in the back of my head...

"This is a fúcking rep for a major finacial institution and he's getting onto me complaining about the shíté his company couldn't fúcking get right and some how trying to tie it in with his fúcking laptop not working?"

Of course I didn't put it quite lioke that to him.... but yeah... he should of known fúcking better...
