Yeah, very frustrating and annoying if you put too much thought into it. One thing that I have realised over the years, and which I think gives some indication of how you have done after the A/C stage, is the vetting process. If you get your vetting soon after you have done your A/C, like say within the first month, then I think that you are somewhere close to the 440 mark. But again this depends on your Community Background. It seems, just because of the numbers, that a lot of R/C will get vetting through, as they can be in the 300+ and still get in, but the Non R/C who get quick vetting apps through, I believe have a good chance of being there or thereabouts.

But again, this is only my opinion and not cold, hard fact.

P.S sorry mod that this should be in another thread, just lots of questions being asked in here lol

"But honestly, I don't know how many times that you have applied, but this process is nuts and so random. It is a complete waste of time worrying about it!"

Exactly! If people think this part of the process is bad wait until you see what it is like if you pass the AC stage  Several months of waiting for a call that might or might not come!.......builds character though :D

I don't think anybody is 'stressing out' over receiving their letter. Its perfectly normal to feel a little apprehensive waiting on an acceptance to the next stage of a job which the person feels strongly about. Nothing wrong with that!
No one is stressing about anything, just want to know, we want our letters as I am sure you do if you are still waiting.

    Get off your soap box!

Didn't mean to offend anyone

Was just reading thread and picked up on some vibes, thats all.

I'm passionate about the career move too, but just dont see the point analysing to the nth degree about a letter and its contents. It'll come and I wish everyone the best with recieving news they want.

End of day, theres x,000s of applicants, of course some are stressing.

Or you pass the IST and Assessment centre and recieve a letter to say this. I phone up and get my merit number and then you get a dear john!!!Very disheartening but here I am again like many others!!!!

Im sure you didnt, but turning around an saying that we should ask ourselves if we are suited to the job role was a bit high and mighty of you tbh, just because you have your acceptance letter and can sit back and relax.

Somethings can be overthought! I'm tempted to think the worst, but no news is...

Done mine 9th, found it tough and didnt finish either set; and I'm both smart and modest

I may just turn up at AC regardless :P

Anyway well done to all who have passed thus far, and goodluck to those still waiting.

Its not my job to decide whos suited to role, its that of the process we're all trying to advance through. Anyway I take your point on board.

And no I haven't yet got a letter

Further, if you are actually stressing over an acceptance/rejection letter, then perhaps you should ask the question if you are really suited to a stessful role in the PSNI? Where everyday is going to be like waiting on a 1000 letters!

    RaCop

    dont forget about this one.

Good news for the ones waiting for the letter. I've done mine on 10th of march and my UID is in mid 6000's and I still got no letter. So I'd vote for the theory of them sending out the letters by the UID's. And I thought I lost my Deloitte papers. Nearly gave me a heart attack. >_<

Guys..........my UID is in the 8000's and I did my IST on the 9th March. Got my Pass letter yesterday. Not sure what this means for the UID theory??

As long as people are still recieving Pass letters then I reakon there is still hope for everyone. ;)

Well folks I was put out of my misery, missed it by 3 marks. Gutted would be an understatement but there's always next year. Good luck to all of you who are still in the running and all the best for the AC!

Well guys I failed. By 4 marks, needless to say I'm gutted. Nothing left for me on these boards until next years campaign begins. Take care and good luck to everyone.

We were told last night that 16,000 ended up applying in the end.

And this was from a very good source.
