Posters vocal about word-play generally have polarised opinions. Half are coated black and half are shiny white.

    Rehashed spoonerisms FTW.

A bad pun is hard to swallow, even in jest.

No, hate them .. which people would stop posting them tbh.
If you like good (read: bad) puns, you should have a listen to the Dave Gorman podcasts of his radio show. The last 10mins or so is usually dedicated to 'Pun Street', where they try and get the best pun named shops they can find.

Highlights include a flower shop called 'Back to the Fuschia', a Plumbers called 'Napolean Boiler Parts' and a Carribean restaurant called 'Jamaican Me Hungry'!
    :D:D

I took some pictures of my memory

I really do have a photographic memory -- I just haven't developed it yet.

There was great cameraderie at the Irish photographers society conference last week.

Were there any developments concerning the previous conference, where the chairperson was arrested for indecent exposure? :confused:There was a court case but it was held In camera.

I don't know, it was mental though and there were lots of people flashing. People got angry and attacked the string quartet who were providing the music, bloody scenes of violins were posted in the paper the next day...

I love the puns. Some are incredibly clever. My favourite one I've seen on boards, can't remember who posted it, it was in a thread about smoking:

The best shop name I've ever heard was a tanning salon in St Andrews up in Scotland. It was called Sun Tan Drews.

People who plug their computer keyboards into hi-fi systems aren't idiots. That would be stereotyping.

There was a hairdresser in Listowel called "Curl up and dye", and another called "Hair Traffic".

At another place called "Hair Dresser", a very fit girl used to cut my hair, and parting was such sorrow when she left.:(

Ah, you meant it's on The Strand as in 'hair' strand.

My knowledge of Dublin not being what it could, I had to look up to see if there was a 'Strand' in Dublin. :)

You can spend hours combing through information looking for suitable puns.

For that to appear on Pun Street it would need to evict 'Salon Le Bon' to become the hairdressers. :D
