so let him kick the wing mirror off a Saracen then :)
I wouldn't put it past him to be honest. Let's jsut say he can be aggresive. If he was in say, Belfast, and seen a Saracen passing by, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if he lifted a brick and hurled it at the Saracen.

A mate of mine was telling me that when he was on his way to the pub last night he came across a car with a Union Jack on the back window so he kicked the wing mirror off the car . Now I told him that although I obviously don't like the sight of the Union Jack but it was taking it too far altogether to kick the wing mirror off. He of course disagreed and my other mate agreed with him that to have the Butcher's Apron displayed in Ireland is asking for trouble.

So what's your opinion folks ?

Tell me who your friends are and I'll tell you who you are...

Has he taken many blows to the head (half serious question)?

Well I'd agree that his actions were stupid. As for someone been in the car - well he box's for the Irish Ropes Boxing Club at middle weight and has won 3 Leinster titles, been beaten once in the All Ireland final. So let's say he can look after himself.

Nah let's say that either he is bull****ting about those "facts" or you are.

Why don't you come on over to the boxing forum and present those "facts" about this 75kg boxer so that all of us that use that forum can have a good laugh at the bull****.

No he has not, because it is made up.

I think he meant in Britain today, not British people in the past.
In Britain today their are plenty of ex Brits walking around ( and more than a few without a leg or two thanks to the Provos :) ) who carried out crimes in Ireland.
Of course what happened in Derry was carried out by scumbags, every army will have some dirtbags in it.....but for the british army to give a nationalist republican a good kicking when they have him in custody for attempting to kill them??? If the shoe was on the other foot I would be laying that shoe into the head of whoever tried to blow me up!!
This was the pacifist a few days ago beating his chect about violence in the North and is now making excuses for the Brits to murder and torture nationalists as they like  As I said to you, you obviously have a political aganda with your fairytales about your father been injured and a cousin killed by a bomb. And your no more form Clones than I am, Portadown or Larne or some other unionist kip more like.

I believe what he said is that they can hardly be blamed for giving him a few smacks and a kick in the hole when he's tried to blow them up. That's not smacking a nationalist republican, that's smacking an attempted murderer. Still not right, mind, but let's not misrepresent it either.

I'm reserving judgement on the wing-mirror incident until I know for certain that the car did not belong to Noel Edmonds.

Erm... nope, it's definitely called the Union Flag.

What language did your mate try to justify his actions in?

nope why would someone do that? If it's cos we were invaded by them, does he boycott ikea and kick any cars with scandinavian flags on them??

I know it's a long time since the vikings invaded Ireland but I doubt your mte was around when the before the brits exited in the twenties.
Actually that seems fair enough...filthy Swedes;)

Seriously though fair point, but the owner of the car should know they'd face animosity (from scumbags and idiots) when flaunting a symbol of oppression like that. Slavery has been abolished in the States...but I still wouldn't be wearing my white robes in public over there, different circumstances obviously but representing similiar issues.

Jesus he sounds like the type that would be handy if you needed a dupe to sacrifice himself in some futile (or not) gesture or other.

Al Quieda (?) would have a handy shift for him (no long term prospects mind) just ability to push one button (actually not as difficult as kicking a wing mirror.)

Far from attacking someone who " tried to blow them up....... smacking an attempted murderer ", the Brits especially in the early 70's made no bones about it that they were there " to teach you f**king Irish some f**king manners ". Anything they got back they deserved it.

I am not a pacifist, if someone was to harm anyone in my life or me then I would retaliate. However shooting, killing, kidnapping random people because they are doing their jobs is idiotic, it will prove nothing. The IRA currently in operation (by whatever name they wish to go by) are not affiliated with any political party, how do they hope to get 'their land' back if they have no one to represent them in political discussions, because even simpletons know that it's up to the governements to give / take it back.

I am from clones. I was born and raised there. Why would I choose the name otherwise? Do you think I was secretly hiding for my previous 400 odd posts waiting for you to start a thread so I could pretend to be from clones.

I don't live in clones anymore. I live in Korea now.

I'm quite shocked at the apparant racism of some posters towards British people.
Is this evident just on the forum or do a fair percentage of Irish people genuinely hate the British?
I am British and am interested in this as some family members are in the process of moving to Ireland.

THere are still some idiots who hate all things British , except maybe their football teams. Don't base your opinion on Ireland by the flaming on this thread. 99.9% of Irish people are intelligent and welcoming of all.
