Would you vandalise a car with a Union Jack on it ?

A mate of mine was telling me that when he was on his way to the pub last night he came across a car with a Union Jack on the back window so he kicked the wing mirror off the car . Now I told him that although I obviously don't like the sight of the Union Jack but it was taking it too far altogether to kick the wing mirror off. He of course disagreed and my other mate agreed with him that to have the Butcher's Apron displayed in Ireland is asking for trouble.

So what's your opinion folks ?

    No.

Now if it was a FF car with Cowen and co on it, I might be tempted!

    Union Flag not Union Jack.

And your mate is a cock who has no respect for other peoples belongings.

You have a point there - and maybe give Cowen a good kicking along with it.

If you hadn't included this bit I'd assume your mate was around 13.

    Nope, stupid vandals.

That's aside from the fact that all politics aside, if you drive a car round the republic with a union jack on it you're a ****ing idiot.

Your mate's a dick for doing that, what age is he, 12?

If he's gonna be doing shìt like that around this country tell him to go home and destroy his Sky TV box, burn everything related to Premiership football, buy only Irish products and start speaking in only Irish....

Big hard man that he is....

    Definitely!

I'd have probably smashed the window with a rock and then ripped up the flag leaving the shreds on the carseat.

As it stands the car-owner is going to return to their car and not know why/how the mirror came to be in that state, so what was the point? However under my method the message would be loud and clear.

    Schoolboy error.

Your mate is a muppet. Im sure if there was someone in the car your mate would have done nothing because he is probably a little bitch. An extremely late term abortion for him would be great.

Your mate is a sad sad individual. Unless he is under the age of 8 , then I could make allowances for him and blame the parents.

Bullshit.. don't believe a word of it tbh. It's just a typical flame-baiting post from you

nope why would someone do that? If it's cos we were invaded by them, does he boycott ikea and kick any cars with scandinavian flags on them??

I know it's a long time since the vikings invaded Ireland but I doubt your mte was around when the before the brits exited in the twenties.

Well I'd agree that his actions were stupid. As for someone been in the car - well he box's for the Irish Ropes Boxing Club at middle weight and has won 3 Leinster titles, been beaten once in the All Ireland final. So let's say he can look after himself.

As I've said I didn't agree with his actions but as for the Scandiavians - well they don't occupy any part of Ireland nowadays do they although if thousands of lovely hotties from Sweden want to ' invade ' their more than welcome :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,034 ✭✭✭✭It wasn't me!

So if this were in England, what would your mate say if his car, proudly displaying an Irish tricolour in the rear windscreen, had its windows smashed in and its mirrors kicked off because someone didn't like its displaying of the symbol they associate with pub bombings?

In case you've any questions about my own feelings, your mate's a dirtbag.

Your mate is a scumbag. Would he break the foot of someone wearing reebok runners?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 17,689 ✭✭✭✭OutlawPete

Back in the 80's when Runner Boots were all the rage.

I used to love the white Reebok ones which had a tiny Union Jack.

Mates used to stamp on them when I showed up to Bruxelles.

    Bastards.

I didn't know your mate was in northern Ireland at the time, I figured cos he was from leinster it would have happened there.
How many times has your mate been to Northern Ireland with the exception of heading to Newry for cheap drink? or does he not want to give any of his money to the queen?

When I am home and I go for a run I go into the North whenever I go anywhere and it's nice there, he should visit it.
