To answer the OP of course your mates behaviour is acceptable, the same way that a British person on seeing a car with a tricolour on it in the uk would be perfectly within his rights to give it a good kicking.

Not like Oliver Cromwell himself got a ****ing time machine and brought himself to to the 21st century, bought a Union Flag to put in a ****ty little car with an easily broken wing mirror just to piss off some sad individuals that can't get over the huge chip on their shoulders.

so does that mean that all British people are equally guilty? For example, would all Irish people be as equally guilty as the cowardly ***** who murdered children in England by planting bombs in rubbish bins on shopping streets? I think he meant in Britain today, not British people in the past.

Of course what happened in Derry was carried out by scumbags, every army will have some dirtbags in it.....but for the british army to give a nationalist republican a good kicking when they have him in custody for attempting to kill them??? If the shoe was on the other foot I would be laying that shoe into the head of whoever tried to blow me up!!
