You're friends with someone for say 4 years and they win 16million, would you be able to keep the same friendship in place or would it all change?
Would you ask for money if you were stuck?

I wouldn't ask for money but at the same time, I think the friendship would change massively..

    I don't know.

Alls I know is if it was me that won 16 million, my relationship with everyone in this country would change.... Cos I'd be gone to Las Vegas!!!:D

I'd keep the friendship the same on my end, post celebrations of course. If they drifted away, I'd tell them that hoping they'd stay my friend, if they didn't, big whoop.

    /serious

Kill them, friends come and go, money is forever.

Well it probably would change a lot because I'm pretty sure he'd be gone out of this country before I had time to say congratulations.

After 4 years of Friendship, i'd surely know enough dirt on him to blackmail his ass.

    16million...yoink!

I wont deny id be seriously jealous, and I also wont deny that Id be disappointed if he didnt offer anything, even small, but that would have to massively depend on the type of friendship it was. I have 'friends' going back alot longer than 4 years but I dont know if they would see any cash if I won whereas I have other good friends of about 3 or 4 years who most likely would see cash.

To answer your question, yes at first, but as soon as I got used to it i dont think much would change then.

initial joy would give way to resentment on your part,
initial generousity would lead to paranoia that everyone was gold digging on their's. they'd buy a big house with a big wall and that'd be that. ;)

    I'd go on the dole.

I wouldn't ask for money no. I would hope our friendship would stay the same as much as it possibly could, but 16 million is a serious amount of money and i'm sure their lifestyle would change. They'd be jetting off round the world in their own jet, while i'd be too broke to even get a Ryanair flight somewhere!

I'd end up secretly resenting them. So no change really.

I'd most likely look to manipulate them into giving me at least a cool one.

....Friendship over - what type of rich person wants to hang out with paupers - of course friends would end up sponging off you. Who wants friends like that. I'd get me some rich friends if I won 16mill. :pac:

wtf at people saying they'd leave the country if they won the lotto... We're in a deflation; if you were wealthy to the point of not needing to work (e.g. 16 million), why would you leave!??

The weather. Proportion of bikini-clad hotties, potholes not too kind to ferrari's.... Hell I'd leave.

Mix things up.. I'd like to spend a few months in my ski chalet, a few months in my Manhattan apartment, a few months in asia and the summer in Galway.
Might settle in Ireland eventually but at 22, I'd be gone.

Deflation ! If you got 16m I'd say you'd be ok pretty much everywhere. I can understand why people would leave. Personally Id stay here and give the money to keep Anglo afloat. :D

Now you said it but winning that kind of money only brings you more problems than you need...
