    "The Landsdowne Multidome".

Really trips off the tongue: "Hey Jimmy, you coming down the landsdowne multidome later?" "Nah international friendlies are overpriced something awful. Bloody FAI..."

as much as people say they loath corporate named stadiums, they tend to catch on fast

emirates, allianz arena, reebok, o2, walkers stadium, Britannia

this time next year everyone will be calling the place the aviva

To be fair, those examples you gave are all new stadia on new sites. Landsdowne road is built on the same site.

If they paid had for the whole thing then fair enough. But they only paid about 10% of the cost.

The Stephen Gately arena, or just Stephen.

I still call Harry Crosbie's old place The Point and will continue to call the new stadium Lansdowne Road. I'm so glad that the Munster branch of the IRFU didn't whore Thomond Park out to the evils of consumerism like has happened with the other two venues.

I call things by what they are, not what I want them to be, so it'll be the Aviva Stadium for me

Nope, that is what someone else has paid a load of cash to have written on the side of it temporarily for a few years until someone else comes along and pays a bit more to have their brand written on the side. What it is, is a stadium on Lansdowne Road.

I like the name Henry, I plan to draw a big face on it and sit outside talking to it while listening to the theme tune for Tomas the tank engine.

No, it's a stadium on Lansdowne Road that will be called the Aviva Stadium until they stop sponsoring it, at which point I'll be calling it whatever it is then. As has already been mentioned, it hasn't done the Britannia or Emirates Stadiums any harm

Apparently, Jonathan Ross only goes to rugby matches to play pranks on people.

    He loves Twickenham

It will always be a stadium on Lansdowne Road though, so why call it after a sponsor when that could change yearly. No idea what or where the Britannia or Emirate are, although I have heard of the Emirates I guess that means either the Britannia sponsors a rubbish team or they just got a new deal recently.

    Where is the O2?

Because they paid for it and frankly it could be called the McDonalds-Burger King-Superquinn-Stupid Flanders Stadium for all I care, if that's what it's called, that's what I'll call it

The Emirates Stadium is where Arsenal play football, and the Britannia Stadium is where Stoke City play, and they are not a rubbish team and the sponsorship is not recent. The point I'm trying to make is that companies sponsoring stadiums doesn't hurt anyone, it's just a name, so I don't understand why people make such a big deal about it.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make, but both of them are called The O2

Not suggesting that the sponsorship hurts anyone, it's about does anyone actually know what you are talking about if you say your going to Aviva? You could be going to get a new insurance quote, if you say your going to Landsowne Road there is zero confusion, and even if you didn't know that there was a stadium there a quick GoogleMaps search and you'll soon find out where they are on about. Stick O2 into Goggle and there is no telling what it will come up with, but call one of the places The Point and they will know your on about the place in Dublin.

Ah context, the thing of kings and smart people everywhere. Even some dumbasses can grasp it too.

I'll probably call it New Lansdowne like I have been doing up to now, maybe with the subtitle "where the capacity is pretty much the same as the old one - money well spent..."

Aviva - outsourced to India, is there a French connection also? Feck that!

Looks like something Specs savers built?
Yeah 'We've been to Specsavers Stadium' has a ring?

I for one nominate that Lansdowne be referred to as Burger King Stadium.

    Or Abrakebabra. Whichever suits.
