I can't stand her music or whatever but she is raking in a **** load of money and is a good entertainer. No matter how much whining people do it isn't going to stop her and should just let whoever enjoys it enjoy it. I'm sure we were all into some ****e when we were younger at some stage.

Lady Gaga is a marketers wet dream and completely over the top. She is Marilyn Manson for this decade.

You could say that at least she can write and play music. A lot of people in the music business these days that cannot do either of them.

I'm a big fan of Lady Gaga but I just can't see her lasting very long purely for the reason that she makes no money so she can't sustain herself.

The Telephone video cost $1m to make apparantly and concerts are the one area where artists make their money - Gaga's concerts cost more to put on that ticket sales she gets back so she's in the negative every time she does a show. All the money is spent on Haus of Gaga for the wild clothes, etc. She'd wanna get somebody to start teaching her about money or something.

She is probably loaded from her song writing. I hear she has written lots of songs for otherse.

I'd say she got a **** load more than $1M in sponsorship from the amount of product placement...

Yeah, but I shared a link to about 100 awards from people who are paid to know their stuff. As opposed to you. Internet angry guy.

But, let me explain. I have a classical music eduaction, as does gaga. I am more than a decade older than her. I am not the constituency who tend to follow pop. I dont listen to radio, and I listen to jazz, but classical mostly.

Occasionally a pop song stands out above the rest, and I say that as someone - like the 100 educated people and critics who gave Gaga (unknown last year) an award - who knows what I am talking about. Unlike internet angry guy,

Now people can become famous for any reason. They could be cute. The general concensus is tha Gaga isn't. They could be a 20 year old andorognous male. opinion is divied on that as regard Gaga. But I digress....

It is possible to come from nowhere and get to the top becuase of talent. Unlikely but possible....

When that happens the medocrities of the world get annoyed, and get even more annoyed by real talent. Look they say, she is popular and therefore must be cr*ap.

Get over it. She is good. I say that not because I am into pop, populatiry, or her ( I dont buy pop music) but because I know she is good. And I normaly buy classical. I know this because I have the training to know.

Hating someone who is popular, precisely because she is popular is so utterly dull a belief system it is almost not worth arguing against.

But you need to be learned.

as for "good pop", its impossible for anyone to say what music is good and what is bad. I love some bands, i cant stand other bands, however the bands i hate are loved by other people, and more people havnt even herd of them! isnt that what makes music so interesting and individual? im middle of the road with her kinda. i like some of her songs (poker face and bad romance) and find most of her songs pretty good. shes differenet in terms of what other artists are around these days.

on the other hand sometimes i think shes just being weird and different for the sake of it and goes way over the top.

the telephone video is meant to be a continuation of the paparazzi video where she kills her boyfriend. thats why shes in prison and beyonce bails her out. makes no sense to the lyrics though which are utterly ****e. shes in a club and doesnt want to answer her phone????really write a song about that? the only line missing is ''im in the jacks pukin, ill call ya back!''

i think she is the best thing to happen to commercial mainstream music in a long time. timbaland & the black eyed peas? boring. will.i.am may be a decent producer, but he does the same tricks every time.

bad romance is a fantastic song. its also the slowest peaktime song i play that fills a dancefloor (im a commercial club & pub dj) @ 119bpm, and i havent got sick of it yet. definitely one of the only songs that id play at a gig and also play in my car (and sing along to!).

im very much a fan. i didn't like just dance though. thought that was ****e. everything else she's released ive liked. telephone is her weakest in a while, and its still good!

I despise mainstream pop music as a general rule, but I actually think Lady Gaga's quite talented. I think she's managed to make pop into a legitimate art form, considering the amount of horrendous commercialised rubbish being released by the likes of Black Eyed Peas et al.

I genuinely think some of her songs are quite good - Bad Romance and Just Dance are great, in my opinion (and I only listen to rock/indie/folk music normally). Love her or hate her, you have to admit that she's good at what she does. She's not exactly a musical genius, but she's the best standard pop artist around at the moment, in my opinion.

I just watched that Telephone video for the first time. The song's okay.

But I noticed some subtle references to Michael Jackson's videos in there (specifically Thriller, maybe even Bad) and some other, not-so-subtle references to Quentin Taratino's films. Are we so devoid of creativity nowadays that when people are pastiching pastiches or homaging homages it's considered good enough to get, what, 40 million views on Youtube? Holy ****. So much for "art."
