And the prospective jury wont have been influenced by a Rally which tried to paint a picture of unbridled racial tension in Tyrrelstown??:confused:

Who said it was going to do that?

You don't magically turn Irish after 11 years of being in the country. I should know.

No but you get your papers. If they want to promote integration, and not their little racialist ideals, they would do well to refer to the victim as IRISH. Of course, "IRISH MAN STABBED" doesnt read as well as "NIGERIAN SCHOOLBOY STABBED"....

Come on. Rallies and demonstrations are designed to have that effect. They are designed to influence the public psyche. If not...then why have the rally.??

To flag up the problem of Racism in this country, a problem which exsists.

    I`m going to the rally.

    Why?
Because a fifteen year-old boy was stabbed through the heart by two grown men in what appears to be a racist attack(if that`s proven wrong,I`ll take it back. But everything I`ve heard about the attack would lead to believe it was a racist attack)and I want to show my opposition to the murder itself, the culture of racism in Ireland, and the racist scum bags who are celebrating this death(just throw your eye on Stormfront Ireland if you don`t believe me).

Another reason is that I`m a Republican, and on Easter Monday when I heard the words,
"The Republic guarantees religious and civil liberty, equal rights and equal opportunities to all its citizens, and declares its resolve to pursue the happiness and prosperity of the whole nation and all of its parts, cherishing all of the children of the nation equally and oblivious of the differences carefully fostered by an alien government, which have divided a minority from the majority in the past."
I happened to take them to heart.

So I`ll be there,in my League of Ireland colours to remember a young Shelbourne FC man who was taken before his time, and I urge others to do likewise.

    You stated
a Rally which tried to paint a picture of unbridled racial tension in Tyrrelstown??

Why would they try to do that, when the two aren't from there?

Where is that the stated aim of the march?

Anyone a link to this story?

Joe Higgins MEP is helping organise it. Link

Very bad idea IMO. Tensions are running very high around the area and the whole situation is very volatile. The boy was only killed two weeks ago.

I've been here about 11 years, I have 2 passports. If I was stabbed and the papers said "Irish man stabbed" that would be wrong. I'm not Irish.

Wouldn't take too long to find sentiments such as 'anyone who still goes to mass if responsible for rape and paedophilia' stated on this very forum. Correct me if I am wrong but if such blanket statements were applied to others it would be discrimination, and you yourself have just come from bemoaning the attention given to Muslims when a newstory from Yemen emerged... yet someone says all Catholics are responsible for paedophilia you are curiously quiet.

What gets me about this is that if the victim were white society would not give 2 ****s. At the same time as the victim was black and the perpetrators were WHITE this is why it's an issue. Take a look at this story - all but Buried by the national media and social commentators. 6 nigerian teenagers questioned after a gang rape in kildare - how many people reading this were even aware this happened ?

    http://www.independent.ie/national-news/gardai-quiz-six-teenage-boys-over-alleged-rape-2129337.html

    Thursday April 08 2010

SIX teenage boys have been interviewed by gardai following the alleged gang rape of a 14-year-old girl.

The girl, a foreign national, is alleged to have been raped by six youths in a house and in a field.

Gardai have interviewed a number of African youths of different nationalities about the incident.

The youths were interviewed under caution, but were not arrested following an incident in a Co Kildare town last month.

A file is being prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

A garda spokeswoman confirmed that an investigation was under way into an allegation of sexual assault late last month.

    Caution

It is understood that the youths had gone as a group to another teenage girl's house.

It is there that the alleged attack occurred, and it is also alleged that the girl was later attacked by the youths in a field.

Sources have said that a number of the young men in the group are accused of raping the girl as others looked on.

The girl's parents later contacted the gardai after being told about the alleged rape.

A major investigation was launched and six teenage boys, who are understood to be aged between 15 and 17, were interviewed by gardai under caution.

The young girl has received counselling and medical treatment following the incident.

"We can confirm a report of an alleged sexual assault in Co Kildare last month which is being investigated," a garda spokeswoman said.

If that above story was black victim white perpetrators it would be page 1 headline each day this week for every paper.

It would be a stupid generalisation. You've some nerve to compare that to actual discrimination.

People's views on discrimination differ. For instance I would suggest a Straight Pride Parade.... I wonder how far that would get, without being denounced as discriminatory.

Why? Has straight sex been illegal for a few centuries? Is "straight" a byword for "bad", "vile" etc and so on?

Or is there a ban on straight marriage, job discrimination and violence against straights for being straight now? Were you gay-mugged?
