Make all the jokes you want, but at least make them funny. LOL ARAB NAMES TERRORIST is really not funny.

    That's where you're wrong.

LOL ARAB NAMES TERRORIST is funny.

People who still watch Seinfeld and worship Peter Kay (My biscuit breaks when I dunk it in my tea too!!!) are the most humourless drones I've ever had the displeasure of coming into contact with.

You're like that guy from Good Morning Vietnam. People like you kill humour.

Seinfeld is still a benchmark in comedy & it's ironic you deride it - as this non pc humour was exactly what the show was about.

But here's the crucial thing - Seinfeld was funny and knowing. Unlike some of the crude attempts at, eh, humour here.

I have seen the "two little fighters" myself, i drove down to cork to hand deliver donations towards their operation. I can assure you they are not terrorists. They are two wee infants fighting to stay alive and have a bigger battle ahead of them today when they are operated on. To see such open ignorance disgusts me. If you cant contribute anything to a serious conversation than "LOL", then you have problems. And yes i do have children, besides this im human.
A bunch of internet hardmen getting their jollies from putting down children. Well done. A round of applause for you.
As for everyone else, im sure your best wishes are appreciated by the family.

Tell me, what do you see here?

Believe me, LaFiamma, nobody thinks they are and everyone on this forum wishes them well.

    Really.

Fair play to you for organizing and delivering the donations.

This bullsh!t about Muslim=Hassan=Hussein=Arab=terrorists really has got on my wick all day in the way some of the English constabulary frequently categorised Irish like terrorists all through the 60s, 70s and 80s and part of the 90s... A Paddy=Obvious terrorists. Get over yourselves. Move away from your PCs, wash yourselves, get yourselves a chick you can settle with, have kids. Move on

Hopefully we'll wake up the morning to some good news

These sort of lets share the grief threads sicken me, Ok thats sad and all but is of absolutely no relevance to me or to 99.9% of the other people here. I wish them well in their op but I think it is a bit disgusting all the media attention that is being showered on them from the Late Late to RTÉ news.

Conjoined twins are no longer the big news story they were back in the early nineties and I think this is just been made into a big news story by the liberal media because they are of Arab-Irish descent and thus somehow extra "special".

There are dozens of families with kids in Hospital and some are not so lucky and lose their children. Do we see the media making such a fuss no way?? I can bet this would not have been a big a news story (if at all) if the Kids were white Irish.

Wishing them and all sick children the best but making a mountain out of a molehill story is stupid when we have got far bigger more important issues to deal with in society.

..which means they're Arab? Not French? Not Indonesian? Not British? Not Indian?

What makes you think they're Arab? I can't see the connection.

There might be some relevant truth in there but also remember, a society of humans is only as good as well of how they treat others.

I don't see anything wrong in showing compassion and understanding, while also too having a sense of humour - as many have here clearly.
How one respects and treats the individual is indicative of how one treats a whole society - its only larger numbers. :)

Its just you. The rest of us actually listened to the news when they were first on.

I love how wrong you turned out to be.:p

    3/5

While many Indonesians and Indians have Arab names, their father is from the former French colony of Algeria and they were born in London.

seinfeld is the past. im not saying it wasnt funny and groundbreaking but it was 90's humour. people have to move on. the office killed the traditional sitcom. LOL TERRORISTS is the new alternative comedy.

I have to say im disgusted with the banter on this thread.

Least we forget, we are talking about two innocent children here - irish, arabic who cares.
Today their lived hang in the balance as teams of doctors battle to separate them and keep them alive.
These sort of lets share the grief threads sicken me, Ok thats sad and all but is of absolutely no relevance to me or to 99.9% of the other people here

I truly ****ing hope that 99.9% of the population are not like you. How hard hearted are you? Im assuming that there is no one in your life outside yourself or else you would be able to summon an ounce of pity for the anguish this family is going through tonight.
Conjoined twins are no longer the big news story they were back in the early nineties

Wrong. Conjoined twins are still exceptionally rare in any country (1 in 250000 births) and there hasn't been one in Ireland for about 5 years.

I for one am sickened that people can trivialise the lives of innocent children for the sake of a chuckle. Any one who is informed in current affairs would know who these children are - regardless of their 'foreign' names.

My hopes and prayers are certainly with the family tonight - I cant imagine what they are going through. I certainly hope they still have these two sons in the morning - will any of you feel ashamed if they don't?

Bit contradictory, no? I thought it was only those useless non parents who can't think of what they're going through?
When some of you nerdlinger virgins start having your kids of your own, you'll understand I suppose
    Delightful.

While I appreciate having a child gives you a different perspective on such matters to those who don't have children, I really resent the notion that those who are not parents aren't capable of feeling compassion towards kids who are suffering.

Where did anyone put down children? It was a joke about words, absolutely nothing cruel was said about the babies themselves.

I love how personal insults are always resorted to in these "be NICE!" posts.

The moralising folks: how do you know whether those punning etc here are heartless and so on? Nobody wants a sad outcome. Enjoying punning, wordplay, joking around, and being compassionate and caring... are not mutually exclusive.

AH is well know for it's light hearted theme(cough cough) I am sure everyone here wishes the family of the children a successful outcome, but please don't expect people to see things one way and suddenly change their opinion in order to 'go with the flow' i'm afraid you come to the wrong place for that.... :o

Well, Muslim != Arab. So assuming someone is Arab when they have a Muslim name is racism, yes.

Nah, it's not proper racism, no hatred or malice is meant by it, it's just a tad ignorant.

Strictly speaking, it is permissable to fart in a lift. Using a lift comes with the associated risk that one of your liftmates is going to squeeze a gut's worth of steamy arse gas out into your little windowless metal atmosphere, a risk you just have to accept if you want to avail of the elevator's services.

This does not, however, in any way negate the sheer unpleasantness of the inevitable event when it happens or make me any more enamoured with the fartee after he's done the deed.

I can't stop other people farting in my liftspace; but I wish they wouldn't just the same.
