If we dont win the league this season will have been an absolute disaster, mostly for the realisation that we are carrying baggage. Heavy baggage.

Michael Carrick has to go. He actually has to go. How many goals are directly his fault? How many will he be let away with?

Darron Gibson was great. I want him starting.

I don't think that this season is a disaster at all.. Disaster is what is happening to scouse atm... We are still in with a chance in the league and went out of the CL due to THAT man.... But if you had offered me this when CR7 and Tevez left, i'd taken it... It's amazing the way we've done considering how poor some parts of the squard are.

Hopefully this defeat makes SAF realise that the squard needs some real quality in midfield and he cuts THAT man loose

I haven't felt this sick since Milan slaughtered us at the San Siro. I had to leave my house that night and go for a walk. If I let myself think about this too much I'll put my hand tru a wall.

The dumbest footballer at the club (Rafael) and the worst (Carrick) have cost us... Big Time. I never wanna see that Carrick fella in a United shirt again.

I'm not bitter that we've been knocked out. You can't win it all. Getting sickened once in while isn't a bad thing. It will cop everyone on. Well done Gibo and well done Nani. Think Rooney should have been taken off earlier but sure that's a hindsight reaction. :(

The likes of Berbatov, Carrick, Neville should all be gone in the summer, not good enough. SAF boobed over Tevez and if he was still at the club do you think Rooney would have played? NO. Michael Carrick is the worst midfielder i have seeing play for Manutd in 15yrs, absolute magican fooling us all including SAF.

SAF needs to sign another striker like Benzema and Ribery or world class midfielder. I honestly dont think the money is there to spend but will see come the summer.

Everybody knows whats going to happen tho?

We will fail to sign any decent midfielder in the Summer and SAF keeps faith in Carrick.

I can genuinely see this happening.

Fergie says we have , Still you know best.

We were unlucky tonight, that's all down to 10 men Rooney taken out of the game and Bayern capitalised on that. **** happens.

Think you're being too harsh on Raf... He's just a kid ffs... He was bursting with energy and his enthusiasm cost him dearly.. But he's a lad with tons of talent and lets hope that he learns from this mistake..

When did you change your mind?

you used to give me an awful slagging for suggesting that

you also vehemently disagreedlast summer when I said you should have bought one of the good midfielders that moved clubs (Sneijder, Robbern, Diego, Motta tired to get Van der Vaart etc)

Get real will you, Bayern players got him sent off and he was unlucky.

If no money (bar sale of Berbatov!) is forthcoming do you think Fergie will stick around?

No he really is a fool. I really like the guy but he is just brain dead when it comes to his kicking out and dragging people down. Just a kid? Give over. If he was 12 I'd agree with ya. He's a man.

Do you remember you betted me that United would win the league and I offered a bet where if they did I would leave boards forever if you did the same if Chelsea won

That would have been very interesting right about now if you hadn't backed down

I've always said that for me this season and possibly the next few would be transition seasons. So I'm neither hugely surprised or upset by tonight's result. In the end the red card cost United, as Fergie said with 11 men they'd have gone through.

A good CM, and a LW are the tweaks that the squad needs noe and if they're signed United will challenge for the Pl and be in the latter stages of the CL again.

    Calm down everyone.

Well if the people who say the Ronaldo money wasn't available to spend are correct, then he's already stayed around one season with no money to spend.

I thought before the season started he would be regardless of what we won at the end. I wouldn't be surprised, the team is not good enough and needs some serious investment despite what some Manutd fans would say and if its not there why would he, also all this anti glazer protest crap as well he might decide enough is enough.

Everyone saying Carrick has to go I cant understand it.

    Berba should go before Carrick.

United were unlucky in fairness. Its not a total disaster, do you think they could beat Barca, I doubt it, especially in the Bernabeu. This is a new United Team, I have heard it before. Finished in 1995 and finished in 2005, look what happened after that. Even if this season turns out badly, we've had 4 great years. The future is bright with the likes of, Rooney, Fletch, Da Silva's, Nani, Smalling, Welbeck, Evans maybe anderson, even Gibson. The team that beat Arsenal earlier in the season had a younger age than the Arsenal team!

Lets compromise and sell them both.

Spurs love their players returning so lets give them a ring.

19 years old and in just his second senior season at United. He was playing in probably the biggest match of his life yet and was up against the likes of Ribery and Robben... It was just his enthusiasm that cost the second yellow.. The lad just needs to take more control of himself and he'll be fine... Heck you'd be singing his praises here for his part in the first goal if he didn't get sent off... One mistake doesn't make him a dumb or a bad player

I usually just unsubscribe as soon as the match is over tbh.

Those match threads should just be closed within an hour of the final whistle.

Was going to post this on match thread but a bit off topic there has been talk about lassana Diarra coming to spurs this summer now he's behind Alonso at Madrid but he'd be a fantastic but for you guys as a replacement for carrick

Rafa will be a world class RB in 2-3 seasons imo.

Im so proud of raf tonight (bar the sending off) I thought he handled one of the best wingers around brilliantly, his attacking, most of his tackles and passing where great, people tend to forget he's only 19 and in time he'll cut out the to much enthusiasm

And in the 1st half he made a fool out of a supposedly €40/50(if not more) million midfielder.I don't even think it was really a second booking.
He caught his arm when going from left to right side but left go without Ribery even breaking stride then Ribery started running into him like he was still being held.It was definitely more Ribery knowing about the yellow and that he was being made a tit out of all match

I really really hate Lassana Diarra so i hope that doesnt happen. :)

Also, we have destructive CM's in Fletcher and Hargo, we dont need another, we need creativity.
