If Hargeaves gets called up for the World Cup squad, Alex will shoot down the airplane.

Carrick has been incredibly unlucky, he missed 4 or 5 England squads through injury.

Hargreaves is really England only top class holding midfielder, and if he is fit Capello would be made not to take him imo.

If Hargreaves doesn't make it, then it will be Carrick or Barry to fill in. Carrick has played the majority of the season as a holding player for United, where as Barry usually plays with two DMs beside him at City.

I think Carrick has a good chance of starting the games against the top teams.

The extent of Tom Cleverley's injury will be known tomorrow, but it is to be believed that it is not as bad as first feared. He is/was rated hugely by the Watford fans, he could break into the United team next season.

Also - According to some reports, Magnus W. Eikrem is out for the rest of the season with a broken leg:(.

would be gutted for Eikrem if that turns out to be true. He has already missed a good chunk of this season due to injury but was hugely impressive prior to Christmas

It's true unfortunatley, broken fibula. It happened in training when him and Oliver Norwood ran into each other.

He says it ain't too serious and hopes to back in time for pre-season. He missed the a lot of games through a back injury but said about the leg break "A positive aspect of the damage is that my back gets more sleep than if I had played".

as long as he is back for pre-season it won't be too much of an issue. Next year is important for him. he needs to make some impact on first team football - i'd like to see him get some run outs in the league cup and then loaned out in January.

He was on the bench against Wolves, Fabio got sent off early so he didn't get a chance.

nope - just wasn't played in it, disappointingly. Apparently he was penciled in to come on as a sub in the Wolves match, but Fabio (or was it Raf?) got himself sent off which changed the plans.

Reading that he will be back in training in 1 month (following this leg break) so it shouldn't impact him for pre-season.

Also read that he has grown quite a bit over the last couple of months (having already shot up over the summer) and is expected to continue growing over the next year. This has been causing growing/back pains which have been a problem for him this year and part of the reason he was missing after christmas. Said the injury will allow him to rest his back better.

Im interviewing a few lads who are the chairs of different regional Watford supporters clubs around the UK, including James Garrett - head of the Irish Watford Supporters Club, so should have a fairly comprehensive report on Tom Cleverley this week, possibly later tonight. Loving what Im hearing so far about how he's been doing down there.

Rooney starting is a total shock , cannot believe it to be honest , Talk about a risk , Surely he cannot be 100 percent ,
Its going to be a long night ,
The result has become nearly unimportant now , Just want Rooney to get through fit and well .

We'll know at about 9.35 (assuming no extra time)
Fingers crossed, hopefully Gibson is up for it too

Time to start rebuilding the team, too many passengers. Nev, Scholes, Berba, Giggs n Carrick all have to be replaced for next season.

Hard luck lads. Must be a tough one to take for ye, shot yourselves in the foot when ye were cruising. Chelsea, us and yourselves now concentrating on the league i guess.

If we dont win the league this season will have been an absolute disaster, mostly for the realisation that we are carrying baggage. Heavy baggage.

Michael Carrick has to go. He actually has to go. How many goals are directly his fault? How many will he be let away with?

Darron Gibson was great. I want him starting.

only one world class player now. lacking so much in midfield and up front. nani is ok, Fletcher works hard, Valencia is ok. Need another world class midfielder and forward. Say€40m each. Spend the Ronaldo money.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 5,092 ✭✭✭Le King

    Criticising Berba is harsh.

Neville was a good back up for when O'Shea was injured. But I think this will be his last season. He put in a few good weeks but it's not good enough for Manchester United.

Scholes and Giggs can be decent subs and were given new contracts this season, correct?

Carrick is awful. Just plain awful. Has to go.

We don't have a cent of that I'd say.

Yes, I was typing somewhat cynically. No threat in midfield are we, and powder puff up front. I hope against hope that rafael or his bro come good. But I feel an impending implosion.
