    ist just same idea as last time I think I was more prepared although didnt get 2nd part finished but didnt last time either so that doesnt really bother me. Went for accurancy as opposed to speed. Who Knows will just have to sit and wait.

    I do appreciate where you are coming from with this request. However the RC/nonRC thing is not important at this stage - you either pass or fail. It only comes into play for those fortunate enough to make the merit pool. Therefore I would advise leaving this until later on in the process. It will just make the posts far too long if each individual just adds their own 'persuasion' to the list.

    Hope this makes sense. ;)

    yeah so they're saying, possibly why theres rumour of 2 campaigns. although i read not long ago the SDLP were calling for it to be extended for 15 years. a decade of "positive" discrimination is enough for anyone.

    Given the huge numbers of applications over the past number of years, it shouldn't matter if its in place or not. Best people for the job is what i think. If you're not up to standard so be it

    There are 27% RC in the force now, after natural wastage from RUC/PSNI officers retiring that will increase substantially over the next few years

    I don't know why but I have it in my head that they were for extending it to next year? I'm sure I read it somewhere.. god knows how reliable the source was mind.

    I agree with best man for the job.. it's how everything is these days though with extreme PC and many other factors.. Nothing is best man for the job anymore... or woman for that matter :P:P

    However.. with the ending of the Patton Report, there will only be 50-100 jobs per year to cover wastage as opposed to the c. 440 jobs on offer per campaign at the moment.

    your right on wastage. i read that 50:50 was another year too, it was in that thing that gave the number off applicants for C16. dont think it directly said it but it mentioned something like funding will be available for the next campaign bla de bla and severly implied it would be 50:50 again. check the article out though

    this is what i mean thou i know i wasnt the first so has to be soon but i think it will be end of this month as
