Yeah I've been hearing about this new 'drug you drink' phenomenon.
Apparently it gives you a bit of a buzz but a lot of people have been saying it makes them violent and leads to memory loss, in addition to having a reeallly horrible comedown.

Imagine what would happen if young impressionable teenagers got their hands on this!!!!! If everybody starts drinking this 'alcohol' drug society will almost definitely break down.

We should ring up Joe Duffy and bring the scum bags selling this dangerous drug to the attention of the masses.

I'm going off to send a strongly worded letter to my local TD.

How can you possibly say this ?

Do you know how quickly the OP drank them ? How much they had eaten, etc ?

    6 x 500ml cans = 6.5 pints

Recommended time to drink the above under normal conditions = 11 hours.

No, but still...... its only 6 cans

You must have been out the day we went metric, 6 x 500ml is only 5.28 pints

Its less than 6 pints but for arguments sake lets say 6 pints. Average time for a pint on a night out(well for the first 6 to 8 anyway) lest say 20 to 30 mins. so thats 2 to 3 hours. Even that looks like a long time to me for 6 pints tbh if you are drinking at a decent pace.

Sitting at home drinking would most likely be slower not faster so I don't think pace was the issue. I dont think the date would be either though as beer doesn't really go off.

Guinness is a lovely drink on draught but its dire from a can, op stick to Guinness draught and steer clear of Beamish and Murphys they are just pretend Guinness.

Haha imagine drinking less than 42 pints in an hour! What sort of ladyboy are you? A national embarrassment you are, sure isn't it all we have left to exaggerate wildly drink loads and loads and not even be tipsy?

Planning on getting your Girlfriend ill by making her drink dodgey Guinness? I like your style

Nah she'd never touch Guinness. I was referring to Good Friday.

recommended by who, that's a loser's (or some 14 year old's) drinking time :pac:

    35-40 mins X 6 for a quiet nite, 20 mins x six for an on the piss nite = between 1h 20 and 4h

Yes, I stand corrected on the conversion.

But the remainder of the post was based on the time taken to be under the driving limit, and therefore not to be viewed as "drunk".

2 units / 1 pint in first hour
1 unit / half pint in subsequent hours

So even allowing for my error, that still applies.

If the body doesn't absorb it, there's potential for a hangover.

So even though halving the timespan might be more acceptable if you're not driving, it'll still have an after-effect. Even more so if you haven't eaten.

Just be glad it wasn't original recipe Bulmers Pear.

Funny you should say that. I was in Liverpool a few weeks back, one of the mates went up to order a bottle of it when out of nowhere some scouse fella was in his ear warning him not to drink it, "you'll sh1t your cacks mate" he told him. The perry lad took no notice and carried on giving it loads in the nightclub throwing his shapes up on the dancefloor etc... within 15 minutes he was banging the door down in the jax pleading with whoever was in there to get out cause he was gonna sh1t himself. Anyway he got into the jax but unfortuntely for him it wasn't quite on time. The perry lad had to leave the cacks behind the toilet bowl. That's not the best bit though. When he went to stuff them behind the bowl there was already a pair there. Thats when the penny dropped.

Hangover after 6 cans = lightweight

Hangover after 6 cans = lightweight

    6 cans = 10 standard drinks
Daily recommendation = 3 to 4 drinks for men

So again, we're not talking about going slightly OTT....we're talking about over twice (possibly 3 times) the recommended daily amount.

Of course, machoness overrides common sense every time.

In fairness leaving machoness etc aside, a high percentage of people(in Ireland) would feel little or no effect the next day after 6 cans.

It would be looked on as "a few pints" rather than a session by most.

All the OP's posts appear to have some sort of warning on them. This one appears to be warning us that he just backed up the hostel toilet.

Do we really need to know this?

    Units.

I presume this is some sort of EU recommended guideline. Absolute Bullsh!t in my opinion. I think they also say that the maximum that a man should drink in a week is 10 units, which is 5 pints. There is alot more in life to drinking, but if you can't go to a pub once or twice a week and drink more than 2 pints without it doing damage to you, you might as well kill me now.

Yup, units. Equivalent to a standard "drink" glass of about 240ml.
    Op, man the fuk up.
Liam Byrne, man the fuk up.

What ? You're measuring a "man" by the amount he can or decides to drink ?

    Kinda pathetic, TBH.

I've listed the facts, and pointed out that we're talking about more than double - almost treble - the recommended amount.

Would you say "man the fuk up" if someone was wondering why they were sick after eating 3 Big Macs in one night ? Did you say "man the fuk up" when yer man did the Supersize Me movie about what more than recommended amounts can do to you ?

Why the "fuk" is alcohol singled out as a pathetic exception, and your "man" questioned if you refuse to subscribe to binge drinking ?

A proper "man" doesn't fall out the door, puke, drive drunk or get involved in a stupid scrap in the car park because they didn't have the sense to know when was enough.

11 hours to drink 6 cans?!??! Sure you'd spend the whole f*cking week trying to get drunk at that rate.
