:(Ive been sick all morning and i mean voimiting real bad. Yesterday i brought a 8 pack of Guinness in Tesco(thats a lesson in itself) for 11 euro. I drank 6 cans last nigh and they tasted a bit flat but i took no notice and preceded to drink 6 of them. Now this morning im really sick which i never get espically after only 6 cans, so i decided to check the bottom of the cans for the best before date, low and behold the best before date on the cans is 29/03/10 which is 6 days time, now i know its not out of date yet but usually drinks have a gone off date at least 6 months ahead or more, now there are lots of these boxes of Guinness in tesco and im sure they wont all be sold out by the gone off date. Im thinking Guinness have this special offer so that they can get rid of unsold stock that is approching its gone off date, never again im switching to Beamish.

"Best before" does not mean that something is gone off when that date has passed. It simply means that it was best before that date. "Use by" means that it *will* go off after that date.

Every foodstuff is legally required to have a "best before" date, even though some things never go off.

You drank too much last night, you got sick, it happens, get over it.

Don't do it Jonjo, i have it on good authority that beamish is nothing more than stale guiness mixed with goats piss. Have you ever tasted that s'hite? It's putrid.
I'd say you just got a bug.
I'd love a nice creamy pint right now:D

Beer lasts for pretty much ever. I have a 33 year old unopened bottle, I could drink if I wanted to.

6 cans is nowhere near "too much"

Oh noes, Guinness spiked your drinks!!1
It happened to a friend of mine, i swears to gawd

Send a can back to them for testing, it could be something wrong with the batch. But then no-one else has complained yet.

Theres a off licence in a leafy suburb of Dublin that has a recession fridge whereby the contents is normally beer selling for a €1 or less per can as it is past its best before date.

    Bottle of what though?

I've had beer six months after the best before. I was fine. Jonjo just can't hold his beer.

Indeed. But a better headline might read:

Man finds Guinness in cans to be vile after first mouthful; drinks 6 cans; gets sick; blames Guinness or Tesco or AH or girlfriend or employer or mother or best mates.

How can you possibly say this ?

Do you know how quickly the OP drank them ? How much they had eaten, etc ?

    6 x 500ml cans = 6.5 pints

Recommended time to drink the above under normal conditions = 11 hours.

A pint = 568ml. So how is 6 cans equal to 6.5 pints?

Also, they are normal conditions according to whom?

Proof that drinking does not increase mathematical aptitude.
