Heh, I'll start my stopwatch on how long this "exorcist" keeps his post.

Still, though, he has some nerve to say that. I'd love to see him personally say that to every victim's face.

I think the devil is getting a bad rep, he hasn't killed as many people as God, loves rock music, drugs, and sex. :pac:

Satan is the ultimate scapegoat it seems. First it was the gays, then it was the atheists now its the devil.FFS can't they just accept any personal responisibility?

Wonderful news! It's the fault of Lucifer, that's great to hear, and there was me blaming the rapists for raping those poor innocent children. I never think things through properly, I really must work on that. I hadn't even considered that devil fella to be honest -Tempting those poor lonely priests with those chirpy childrens lovely botties, as if God would do something like that, it has the Devil written all over it!
I'm so glad that it's all finally been cleared up -and without anyone having to apologise too -bonus!

Great! I'm off to mass now...

The Devil's probably embarrassed to be associated with the likes of these scumbags.

Now, my theology isn't what it used to be, buuuuut.

As i understand it, the Devil doesn't make you do anything, he just tempts you into doing things but he can't actually cause any action. That's all you.
Seeing as we all have free will and all that.

So, from a strictly religious point of view it makes sense. The individual priests that are guilty are responsible for their own actions but the fact that they did them would be seen as proof that the devil is still around.

    Not really all that shocking.

No, i'm pretty sure he didn't need tempting into being that banal.

Yeah, i can see this is going to be one long clusterfuck of stupid.

Here is one religious person whom I can have respect for.

    Cardinal Christoph Schönborn,

TBH, i think this is a cop out excuse. A vow of celibacy does not make someone a child abuser or rapist. Nobody is forced to become a priest (not anymore anyway)

Regarding exorcisms, we have two official exorcists in Ireland. One of which is quite active and is considering a leader in the field. Im involved in a film on the topic and the team met the priest. A humbling experience. He does lectures in some of our colleges and has written a book. The stories he had would make the hair stand on your neck. the director of the film has starting going back to mass since talking to him!

I think this 'exorcist' has it right.

'Evil' is just a term for used by ignorant people to describe mental illness, and I think there are many mentally ill people in the Vatican & church.

Its not their fault, if you hadn't emptied your nuts in 40 years you'd be going mental as well!

According to The Times, Amorth blames "cardinals who do not believe in Jesus, and bishops who are linked to the Demon".
We all do a bit of bluffing in our jobs, but thats pretty impressive.

If South Park were doing an episode (okay, another episode...) taking the peas out of the Catholic Church, then this devil line is exactly what you'd expect to hear.

They are becoming a parody of themselves at this point.
