Bad enough they were putting in Shipment and not something like Strike but to have these crappy guns is ridiculous.
2 of the worst guns on COD4 IMHO espically Dragunov. Why not put in a bolt action sniper like the R700. I have a funny feeling(more so in hope really) the unknown weapon could be the M40 sniper.

If guns and perks are available in some free update or something, that's grand. Making it DLC is beyond retarded.

did u play hardcore much in cod 4 ? cuz the drugunov was far and away the best one shot and ur enemy is down not as strong as the other snipers but why the excess strenght when u can do it in one anyway ? add that to the semi auto fire and u had a pretty solid sniper rifle . have to agree with the scorpion though can see that being the weopon of choice for people who simply sprint around the map trying to get as many kills as possible and not even worrying about their ratio

why did infinity ward and microsoft agree to this deal?...it will NOT go out and make me buy a xbox, all its making me want is to boycott this DLC

..what is either companys gaining for 30 days exclusive maps?..besides infinity ward getting a sh1t load of cash

certanly microsoft cant benefit much from it

Come on now, I pressume you've heard of the M21 sniper and be it Hardcore or standard what advantage does the Dragunov have over the far superior M21?

Anyway I was talking about the Druganov in the sense that most people play standard, not hardcore. So the inclusion of Druganov is frankly BS I believe. When clearly another bolt action sniper is needed in MW2.

Unless you want to use a golden sniper in COD4, then I can see why people would use the Druganov.

Oh and yes, I played a hell of a lot of Hardcore though mainly in COD4.

As much as I despise Microsoft for paying millions apon millions to get a step ahead. At least they are doing their best to get ahead and it's admirable. But considering us PS3 owners have to wait 30 days, it's not all bad. TBH I thought we'd have to wait for a few months or more like the GTA IV DLC content.

Microsoft paid $50M for GTA IV DLC and PS3 owners still waiting for it. It'd be interesting to know how much the contract between Activision and MS is worth.

simple!! for the people who have both xbox 360 and ps3 would more than likely have bought modern warfare for the xbox 360 since hearing about the advancement on getting the dlc. Also if they have the game for both consoles they will probably buy it on the xbox 360 instead of the ps3 as it will be out on it first. Microsoft will get a cut on the sales!!!

beisdes getting something before someone else just makes you cooler. At least that is microsofts way of thinking.

i went off mw2 last month i was sick of all this boosting bollox going on.

listen mate readin back over that i did sound a lot like i had my head up my own ar*e so sorry about that. im not saying its by far the best or anything like that and i understand a lot of people play the standard team deathmatch or free for all just for myself if the drugunov is in anyway like the last game it'l be handy . i only ever play hardcore these days ,find the 10 year olds dont like it much, so something that fires fast and kills with one hit sounds pretty handy . the little flare of panic in the second or so it takes to load the bolt action after i missed brings me pretty close to a stroke:pac:

no not simple...i wonder what % of people have both xbox and ps3?..would be preety stupid to have both to be honest anyways

Besides being able to get games exclusive to the platform, what reasons would they be? If people didnt buy consoles just to be able to play a specific game, then all games would be available on all platforms.

Well I was including the range of exclusives games as different reasons. But another one is obviously the BluRay in the PS3. Not as big a deal now that bluray players have come down in price, but still nice.

I don't agree with your last sentence. The manufacturers are looking for market advantage. Getting exclusives is a great way of them doing that, from their point of view. That isn't likely to change.

That was my thinking aswell. Also alot of people buy a ps3 for a blu ray player. Uncarted 2 was an excellent game and so was the halo franchise. Alot of people will buy both consoles for that exact reason.

There is alot of different reasons for why microsoft wanted to get the dlc early. Maybe it was to laugh in sony's face and say HAHA we have it before you do, Or it was so that they will make money on it. They made a bundle on the exclusve gta 4 content. Although that was exclusive a 30 headstart will still make them money in my eyes.

I have a 360 for gaming and a ps3 for the blu-ray, when you think about the ps3 is one of the best blu-ray players out there and also very good value.

yeah well I have both consoles and have MW2 on the PS3, but Play had a deal this week to buy MW2 on the 360 for €32 so I jumped at it for two reasons one I can follow boosters from game to game until they give up and two I'll but the DLC and get to know the maps inside out before they hit the PS3

I bought mw2 for 360 a few weeks ago, traded it in last week for battlefield. Couldnt get used to the analogue sticks, think the ps3 controller is alot better.

I'm the opposite , i even got a cross adapter for the ps3 but still couldnt get into it.

I think they should make something extra for those that Prestige. I mean, something like 4 killstreaks instead of 3.

That wouldn't really work, unless you catagorized the killstreaks.
Without catagorization, people would get nukes every second match.
Predator-> Harriers -> ChopperGunner -> Nuke

However, if they catgorized them;
Recon Planes
Airdrops
Tier 1 Air support (5-7 Kill streak)
Tier 2 Air support (9-11 Kill streak)
Miscellaneous(Nuke/EMP)

that would prevent people doing what I said above if they could only choose one from each catagory.

In some ways you almost have to admire Activisions brazeness. They know that people will pretty much pay whatever they charge and so looking for close to €15 for three new maps will mean more money for them. It's all part of Bobby Koticks 'fleece the ****ers for every penny' business model and while people will grumble and moan about it, they'll also suck it down and had over their cash.

Personally I'm glad I traded it in for Bad Company 2

That would make no sense. The already stronger players would be able to effectively kill the game (nuke) in a matter of minutes, end of MW2 MP.

So it isn't 3 maps for 1200 points. It's five. Just because people played them on COD4, doesn't mean they won't be fun on this game. (I never played COD4, so don't have any opinions about those 2 maps in particular.)

It's funny actually. After MW2 came out and people played all the maps, people were posting on here saying how great it would be if they released some COD4 maps for MW2.

Now the DLC is nearly here, they are releasing two COD4 maps and people are complaining about it!!

I cant wait for the dlc to come out , be it 800/1200 i enjoy the game and am looking forward to the cod4 maps. I would have nearly preferred if it was 6 maps from cod4 , There is a reason cod4 won game of the year for 2 years running and the maps have a lot to do with it, just a pity , blacklot , ambush and district arent coming over as well.
