well then I look forward to the answer cause it has me stumped. If Ruud didn't manage it then I am down to 4 that I believe have done. Can't think who the other 3 could be.

You sure it is 100 prem goals - I really don't think 8 united players have done that.

    sorry was 2nd one :o

saha wasn't in the list I saw (he has 101 by wikipedia for what its worth) , Ruud has only 95 0- rest are correct

Didn't mean to put van Nistlerooy in. Saha scored his 99th and 100th in the 3-1 win over Chelsea.

Nobodys denying the debt, I'd rather we didn't have it but where we differ is that some of you think it's out of control and will lead to the demise of the club, I'm not there yet.

You may not have been denying the existence of the debt but you were denying the repercussions of it i.e. the fact that we now have to borrow money to buy players.

Since you actually ignore the information that's available about what's happening at the club, how can you have any faith in your belief that it will all turn out alright?

    For both your information:
When the bonds were sold a few months ago the club circulated a prospectus of the club's financial situation for prospective buyers. It stated that THERE IS NO MONEY FOR PLAYER PURCHASES, THERE IS ONLY AN OVERDRAFT FACILITY AVAILABLE.

    Link?

I'm not intentionally ignoring anything. Maybe my belief is wrong I'll hold my hands up and admit my faith was misplaced if that happens to be the case. True, I don't believe we'll see the reprecussion predicted in some quarters, that doesn't mean the debt has no affects on the club, it obviously does .

Does your calculations allow for revenue growth from untapped resources or is it all based on past/present income levels? I'd like to see a link for the above too.

Disappointing not to see Pogba, Petrucci or King, amongst others. It is good to see Eikrem back from injury though.

That means, despite the claims from David Gill and Alex Ferguson that it is there to be spent on players, much of the Ronaldo money is being used to pay off debt which the Glazer family is responsible for. The majority of the money for any new transfers will be funded by yet more debt, in the form of a £75m overdraft facility. The net result of these moves is that the club will become even more leveraged than it is at present.

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1242452/We-rid-Glazer-leeches--Manchester-United-fans-lash-debt-ridden-owners-unveil-500m-bonds-scheme.html#ixzz0hc5yQ9W0
And it also emerged that United have signed a revolving credit facility worth £75m. This essentially works the same as an overdraft and is thought to be the reason why Ferguson was so bullish about his licence to sign players.

    http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/jan/13/manchester-united-debt-glazer-family
Yes, money could be found to fund player transfers. But to say all of the £80m-plus raised has been made available is disingenuous, because under the new terms of the bond issue up to £70m of the club's free cashflow of £116m could be diverted to the parent company to help repay the PIK. The club also plans to use a new £75m credit facility provided by a syndicate of banks led by JP Morgan to help fund player transfers, according to the offer document. But that facility, which replaces an existing undrawn £50m overdraft, will add to the overall £700m debt pile.

City getting 4th spot makes them a lot more dangerous.

    its not citys yet though

Villa are in a great position, same as spurs, if City get it then what can we do, Liverpool are still probably gonna get it, on the last day, in injury time, in raffa time

**** it i missed the interview, what was said?

    right Ill explain

if city get 4th spot the transfer window will be absolute disastrous, atm there only able to get good players because the lack of CL football that could change if they get CL soccer, for me villa and spurs are to inconsistent, I was hoping liverpool with all their experience etc would eventually get 4th spot, basically it was the lesser of 2 evils for me. Also City could buy the league next season with CL soccer

This is very true. I honestly believed that the only thing that stopped Kaka inking a deal with Man City was no CL football. If Man City get CL football for next season...... as they say on 'The Sopranos', fuhgeddaboutit. They will buy anyone they want, for €Xm and they'll piss home in everything. Frightening.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

its city! they will find a way to fukc it up! ask any city fan and im sure he will agree tbh

i dunno, they just dont bother me tbh, foolish? maybe, but im not worried by them

Chelsea tried to buy the league, we still came through and took our trophy back, We rise to challenges, thats what this club is all about

you of all people should know that all the money in the world wont necessarily buy you everything

for all the money invested in chelsea you have 2 leagus to show for it, forget the fa cups etc.. the big prizes are the league and the Champions League right?

if City had a better manager maybe id be more concerned, but i just dont rate Mancini and I disgaree about Kaka, even if City had Champions League football i think he would still have gone to Real

they'll be getting a better manager in summer, one player they could of gotten if they got CL would be eto'o.

Players aren't suddenly going to up and leave Barca and Real in favour of Man City. Yes the attraction of champ's league football is another reason to come but if players haven't come for money there's **** all they will come for.

Chelsea are owned by a billionaire and won the league because Jose Mourinho was in charge - not because they were owned by a billionaire.

Mancini is decent, but he's no Ferguson/Wenger/Mourihno. The league will not be theirs by assumption. How many times will they have to rebuild?

i agree with most of this

City getting CL football wont be a ridiculous incentive, it will help of course, but mainly the same type of mercenaries players will be attracted because if you are one of the better players in the world you will probably have a choice of top clubs after you

why would someone choose City over Barca,United,Madrid,Chelsea?

no reason other then money, and the players who will go for money will go regardless of CL football, see G. Barry, J. Lescott, Robinho, etc....

I've had a strong suspicion that Benzema will end up at City next year ever since the rumours emerged that he could already be shipped out of Madrid. I still feel he's one of the best young talents in football, and that under Fergie's guidance we could genuinely have the next Ronaldo on our hands if we got hold of him. And no, not Cristiano..... Just my opinion.

    Benz has undoubted quality.
